I assume there's a very good reason he's not. Likely several good reasons.

Agree.  Sadly...  The lad is an enigma.

Ref my Geno Stone quote sig.

Son's high school classmate who now lives in Cleveland had an extra ticket and invited my son up for the game Friday.

Son is going.  Driving to, going through the dog and pony show of meeting friend, drunken troglodyte fans and driving home

all in one day.

I told him it was a dumbass idea.

They should move Garrett inside over him and dare Joe to drop back.

its interesting, ive learned that defenses have similar strict themes and roles (obviously) like offenses, like on offense you cant just tell someone to go deep or soemthing, you cant put a different guy in a spot he doesnt get reps at, etc. defense guys have gaps to cover so that LB's have X or Y to then cover, and throwing lanes to block, based on offense formations, so its somewhat rare to just move a guy around, HOWEVER, the DE/EDGE guys are the ones you can the most, typically the front 4-6 defenders are looking to leverage and outnumber the O-line, or force a guy to be one on one with their monster player the best they can. which leaves guys like Volson in a spot they can be easily helped from either side or the RB, so its less advantageous to try to attack him vs the end solo, for the end you almost need to bring a corner or lineback off the end (leaving a hole in the middle,) to force the LT/RT out and get the DE on the LG/RG if you do that too much a slant or screen or qb run will render it useless as well.

and frankly joe hasnt had a very fun time dropping back with whatever they have been doing so theyll probably just keep at it. lol

Can't even find a swing guard/tackle backup on the OL lately.  Specialization is definitely the trend.  Hardly see guys swapping around at all anymore it seems. Remember Geathers sometimes playing as a LB?  That's ok, neither does Trent Green.  :ninja:

Never let the media, Park Avenue, or any of the yapping dogs up North try to convince you that the team currently wearing uniforms associated with the franchise founded up there in the 1940's is the same as the franchise that was birthed in 1999.  Al Lerner's team is NOT Paul Brown's team.

The original Browns won a Super Bowl or two after Art moved them to Baltimore.

But in spite of the revisionist history spewed out of Park Avenue, the 1995 Browns and the 1996 Ravens are the same:

They should be happy they have a team and leave it at that.  As for "history", the CITY has history, but the TEAM playing there has none before 1999.
