Smythe is worth a look as a TE who can both block and catch. He's no great shakes but wouldn't tip off the defense when he's on the field.

i dont know much about Smythe, but he was the only one i didnt care to kick the tires on.... but now that you mention it its whatever.. aside from Mike G, the other TE's are role players to the exact degree, so may as well.

Fuller be a cheaper vet to have around, Mstert as a rotation guy would be cool, i have no idea his value, is he still considered good ? he had a short spike of production in SF i recall..

Mostert scored 21 TDs in 2023, tied with McCaffrey for the league lead. Then fell off sharply last season as Achane became their top RB. He's 32 so I wouldn't pay much for him. In his prime, he was very fast but has lost a step.

He was playing injured last year so it's hard to know where he is at.

There are exceptions....

Is Mostert?

Could not tell you.

Point being: chronological age is not the total deciding point for any athlete

Understood..

It's one that the NFL sees as one.

Younger bodies and fresher legs rather than

a 8-10 yr RB whos body is breaking down due to excessive hits.

Give me youth in that area.

Is there an alternative that stands out to you?

Having a lot of cap space is mainly a marker for not having any high priced players on your roster, ie it lacks talent. Pats fit the bill there. It also reflects how many vets are out of contract for a team. That's why Washington has so much space.

Raiders may be worse off then Pats.

Pats have Maye

Raiders Aiden Quinn....

Gonna take a shitload of cap to find a decent QB..

Teams won't find a good QB on the waiver wire. But the other 3 methods of player acquisition in the league are available. This year's draft class isn't impressive but odds are that at least 1 or 2 QBs in it will become established starters. Free agency can be hit or miss but there are veterans available. And trades can work for one side or the other. There have been rumors that Matt Stafford is available for trade. He's a legit franchise QB currently. How long he'll continue playing is unclear but he's 4 years younger than Rodgers.
