Sox Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I know there's a draft forum, but very few go there. I'd like to start a thread where we can all make fun of each others mocks. Here's mine. 2 Quote

Here's mine. I'd be happy with that. Ratledge and Brown won't be there at those picks. Probably not Williams or Johnson either. Quote
-GoBengals- Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 I like Will Johnson but it isnt that much of a room upgrade i dont think. also wierd to have 3 michigan DB's in the room but whatever.. Pros: I guess youre locked in for CB's for a while, WJ being the #1, CTB should be a great #2, Turner/Hill being the #3 and slot guys.. thats a very very solid group... Cons: CTB coverage wise was in the top 20-ish range in 2023, can the new coaches and scheme get him back there? or better? if so your upgrade is marginalized. The risk isnt worth not adding a body, i was expecting more of a reliable veteran like Awuzie-type guy in free agency.. I keep expecting DT but also keep hearing DT is filthy deep this draft so the 17th range and second round isnt a huge drop off... so why go with them at 17 1 Quote

I could be wrong on that. I don't expect a major investment at CB Quote

I doubt he's on the board at 17 but if he is, we should grab him. We do need upgrades at DT and DE but should be able to sign some journeymen types in free agency and a good player at 49 or 81. Bengals don't like to pay top dollar for impact players from other teams with Orlando Brown the notable exception. I don't expect the team to go after Sweat or Williams or DJ Reed or Carlton Davis. Those guys will get at least 15 and maybe 20 mil per year. Too rich for the Bengals and I'm ok with that. 5 hours ago, MichaelWeston said: I think by the end of last year CTB had bounced back. We have pretty good depth there and Dehner said it's a near certainty the team picks up Hill's 5th year option. So we might lose CTB after this season. But we can deal with that next offseason. I could see a draft pick used at CB depending on how the D-line is restocked. Quote
|BlackJesus| Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Ratledge isn't going to last to pick 81 in my view ... we will need to take him at pick 49 (or trade down from 2, or up from 3?). And I am ok with that. He will start week 1, if we do. 2 Quote
sparky151 Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Agree Ratledge won't be on the board at 81. But we should just sign a couple of veteran guards that's we're comfortable starting. We can draft a guard if one of our vets is older (Zeitler, Scherff) but we shouldn't want to start a rookie. I'm more interested in drafting the Karras successor this year than a replacement for Volson or Cappa. Quote

sparky151 Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 No, Booker is falling after his terrible combine performance. Quote
