On a message board that I post on often, people use FOX News as their basis to support their arguments. It funny to prove these people wrong over and over again. They act like FOX News (or as one of my friends calls it, Fox propaganda) is gospel.

quite simple.

FoxNews is evil.

Those who watch it to learn anything are stupid.

Exactly...

Well... we have Daily Show and Keith Olbermann presented as "sources" and "gospel" here...

Keith Olbermann used to do SportsCenter!

People don't look at their news source critically now.

not hating... just stating a fact. It is on comedy central. They may have topics that are "on point" but all news outlets have topics "on point"... it is the information that is disseminated about that topic that makes or breaks the outlets credibility.

That is a "primary" news source now? When does Saturday Night Live become one? What about Rush Limbaugh? He has topics that are "on point"... it his is presentation / delivery of the information that screws him. Don't hate just because he leans right and you don't...

It is what it is.

I honestly don't know the answer to this...

But, can a corporation refuse to allow specific individuals to purchase shares of its stock on the open stock market? I don't know.

I dont care that he owns foxnews, I care that they are painting him to be this evil guy while ignoring that he owns foxnews. I doubt hes some evil guy at all honestly, i think they are painting a narritive that doesnt exist for the purpose of scaring people because it gets them ratings and money. Hell I bet this guy doesnt care either so long as he is making money....oh wait, that is pretty evil.

Agenda?

The agenda that shows a direct ignorance of an issue that they should have know about (or likely do know about) while screaming from the top of the moutain about this "issue"?

Yes that agenda.

And here we go with the "but, but, but, MSNBC!!!!"

I dont even watch MSNBC, so try again.

You and others have beaten FoxNews down here for years...

We ALL know fox news is full of shit... so is MSNBC... So is CNN....CBS Nightly...NBC Nightly

Pick your flavor.....you are not convincing anyone who likes FoxNews to stop watching....or any other channel for that matter.....

Fox News plays to the right...MSNBC plays to the left

The scourge of modern society is 24 hour news service...The networks have to line up sooooooo much bullshit to fill time. They don't report news....they try to sway political opinion and make money.

If you form your political opinions by what the news services say... you probably also care what Matt Damon or Jamie Foxx or Kanye West or Barbara Streisand or Sigourney Weaver have to say about politics as well....

No other "news organization" has the bravado of being "fair and balanced" while being anything but.

Seriously it's their tag line, I dont think any of the others have such an absurdly false tag line.

So when you say we are "fair and balanced", you have to expect to get called on it when you arent.

Foxnews wouldn't get what they get from people if they were just honest about what they are and change their tagline to show it

Foxnews - "The WWE of News orginizations."

Seriously how people can retort about the other news organizations when the others dont put "fair and ballanced" as their tag line is beyond me.

It is a freaking advertising slogan...

So - if they instead say "Conservative and Biased" you're fine with that, correct?

I guess those that left leaning should spout "Liberal and Biased" then...

By your theory... one is an out and out lie... the others, because they don't "advertise a stance" are only little white lies.

Is that about it?

I know this wasn't addressed to me, but I'd like to throw in my $.02...

I don't hate FoxNews because of any bias. If folks with conservative tendencies want to watch news that is slanted in that direction, so be it. Same for anyone leaning in any other direction.

My issue with Fox is not about bias. It is about a lack of truthfulness. It isn't that they only tell one side of the story. It's that they fucking make shit up, and pretend it's news.

Tigers, if you want to compare something to SNL, FoxNews would be it. Only it's not funny. It's fucking scary.

As for the Daily Show, I have more respect for Jon Stewart than anyone in the media at this point. He's not afraid to call out anyone. Whether it's an assclown on Fox or MSNBC , or whoever. He might be the last guy standing who tells it like it is. How sad is it that we have to get an honest perspective from Comedy Central, ffs?

No its a tag line to get people to think they are fair and balanced, I cant tell you how many times ive heard folks say fox news is fair and balanced.

How about not say anything with regard to their political alliances. Because we all know, Fox is repbulican and msnbc is libral, this really doesnt have anything to do with biases, it has to do with propaganda.

Fox news at this point is nothing but right wing propaganda. And in my opinion there is a difference between bias and propaganda. The wall street journal is right wing bias, but you dont see me complaining about them in fact if you look hard enough you might find me using them as a source on occasion.

i cant watch the clip on my work comp but i saw that segmant the other night an pretty much pissed my pants...very well done

The thing about the daily show is that it never tried to portrey itself as an unbiased news outlet. Its a comedy show, an opinionated one, but a comedy show nontheless. I would think that people wathcing it instinctively take everything said with a grain of salt because its on comdey fuckin central. That should fall under the realm of common sense.

i remember an interview a few years back when some guys were grilling stewart for not asking John Kerry tough questions and Stewart responded something to the tune of "what do you expect from me? my show comes on after a show about puppets making prank phone calls!"

Other news networks claim to be exactly that, unbiased news networks. People SHOULD question these sources and form their own opinions on important matters, but I dont know if i'd go as far as to say its common sense. However, Foxnews and others have proved beyond a reasonable doubt that a substantial portion of the population will not do this. All they have to do is say it, make it sound convincing, and once the masses have a hold of it it doesnt matter what the truth is.

FOX, and all biased media for that matter, isnt the problem... ignorant ass people are the fucking problem
