Jamie_B
Fuga, Fashanu, Mimms, Lathem, Fatanu. Bowers, Murphy. Come away with at least one of them. The "Ill be ok with" is Odunze, Arnold, and Thomas Jr
sparky151
Bowers, Q Mitchell, Arnold, Thomas, Mims, Fuaga, Fautanu Maybe JPJ or DeJean
Jason
I just don’t think there is any way Bowers makes it to 18. Since he doesn’t have to start right away (we hope) I love Mims for his size and upside. But if Latham is there he’s the safer pick. I don’t think Murphy makes it either. He’s climbing. If the worthy tackles are gone I wouldn’t hate Brian Thomas Jr.
|BlackJesus|
Dreams: Alt, Nabers, Bowers, Murphy Realistic: Mims, DeJean, Fautanu, Barton
gupps
If all the worthy tackles are gone I hope they can trade down a bit and maybe pick up Newton or Barton.
sparky151
How is Latham a safer pick than Mims? Latham is the guy who declined to do the standard athletic testing. It's hard to think of a reason for that other than the results would hurt his draft stock. He's also the latest in a long line of flops from Alabama O-linemen. Maybe this time it's different, but that's not the way to bet. Mims on the other hand has plenty of tools and his tape is good. The only complaint is that there isn't enough of it. Wah. He has no reason to stay in school for another year, he's ready for the NFL.
gupps
I'm starting to cool on Latham (at least as a tackle) and warm to Mims. I've seen/watched several things that say Latham has "cement feet" and probably will not be able to operate in space very well. Maybe they will both be gone and we have to make due with Murphy/Newton.

Lathem's tape is at 360. He's down to 342 now which will help him move better.
dex
The Big Four for me in no real order - Fautanu/Fuaga/Latham/Mims. One of those four will be picked at 18 tonight.

And if that occurs I'll be very happy with the pick. Guyton and Paul and Morgan are lower tiered imo. ..Alot lower.

Switch out Fautana for Fashanu and I am on board with that list in that order.
|BlackJesus|
I may be in the minority, but I like Fautanu better than Fuaga. Fautanu is very light on his feet (reminds me of Dion Dawkins). Though I think his best position is at G (all-pro ability there).

Give me the mauler run blocking beast.

I think Alt, Fuaga and Lathem will be gone. Mims only knock is inexperience but the tools are there to be a very solid RT. I still believe if Mims is there they jump on it.

We have OBj under contract for 3 more years and Trent Brown for 1 year. Either could theoretically be extended if the team wants but they don't like signing guys who are 30 or over for multi-year deals. So any rookie taken at 18 will be with us for 4, maybe 5 years. It would be a plus if he could play not only RT but LT if needed. Mims fits that requirement better than Latham or Fuaga.

That's the part that makes him so attractive to me than the other guys, it still is a boom or bust pick though.

Some guys who believe they are at the top of the draft don't test so they don't mess with that. If Lathem thinks he's the #2 Tackle, it makes sense not to test and mess that up.
|High School Harry|
OT and Sacrilege but... One side thing I am interested in seeing how the first round plays out but also for the teams who draft behind us... I am as interested or perhaps more so in Round Two. Some very good players are going to slide into it and with our #49 and two Third rounders... we could knock it out of the park and have a phenomenal draft. Round Two really intrigues me...
