I didn't watch him in 2023 so I can't say if he fell off. I don't see where Moss is rated the best pass blocking RB. He appears to be an improvement over Mixon but that's not too tough. Perine will be a Vonn Bell style addition. A veteran who knows how to be in the right place all the time that helps everyone else on the field. It's possible his pass blocking and catching fell off but he did have 50 catches last year. youre right, not sure where i read that, last year Moss was 21st in the nfl in pass blocking, Perine was 47th. point still stands i suppose. Just a note on Perine being 47th... there are 32 teams. also on perine being 47th... mixon was 49th... 🤮

Every year there's a McLaughin in the draft. We have seasoned vets ahead of him this year.

Potentially a DE coming in. I liked him but he was undersized. "Undersized".... Tough to be in the AFCN..
|High School Harry|
https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2024/08/27/bengals-bold-by-going-eagles-dl-help-nfl-analyst/ Bengals should get bold by going after Eagles DL for help, says NFL analyst The Cincinnati Bengals need some help at the defensive edges before the season and might use the waiver wire or even trades to make it happen. It was no secret the Bengals entered 2024 wanting to keep Trey Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard fresh for the entire season, but a season-ending injury to Cam Sample, the retirement of Jeff Gunter and a new injury for former first-rounder Myles Murphy has decimated the team’s depth. Now, a name just cut by the Philadelphia Eagles might be able to provide that help. Bleacher Report recently suggested the Bengals should strike up a trade with the Eagles for edge rusher Julian Okwara: The Bengals would be wise to start scanning the league for teams that might be loaded at the position and willing to deal a player. The Eagles would qualify. Julian Okwara is only 26 years old and was a rotational pass-rusher in Detroit for three seasons. Good news for the Bengals — they won’t even have to do that, as Okwara was one of the cuts just announced by the Eagles. A 2020 third-round pick, Okwara has never played more than 40 percentof a defense’s snaps in a season and has tallied nine sacks over 38 games. Okwara would indeed be the type of low-cost signing the Bengals might attempt to make in an effort to bolster the depth. Someone like late-round rookie Cedric Johnson might make the final roster, too, but more might be better early in the season as the team slowly brings back Murphy after the first month of action. Whatta ya think, Vern?

I think its a Vonn Bell, steadying force type thing. I fully expect him back from the podcasts I have listened to. Unless someone else takes him. The bigger question for me is who do they cut and how much is he actually used.
MichaelWeston
I am going to guess they put in a claim for him https://www.nfl.com/prospects/siaki-ika/3200494b-4141-5291-2dea-662f23193178 Then he sucks and is cut in Mid October. MichaelWeston
My guesses so far 1-Siaki Ika is picked up off waivers 2-They sign Raymond Johnson to the practice squad with a near guarantee that he is called up the first 2 games 3-Perine back

Ika flat-out sucks, he did absolutely nothing in the PS and Cleveland giving up on him so quickly speaks volumes too. I don't see Raymond Johnson getting a deal to come back, unless it's a PS role. And even then, they've got serviceable depth before Murphy returns. I like Cedric Johnson a lot, and he's flashed quite a bit. I just checked the waiver wire and the only guys that looked halfway intriguing to me were Damian Wilson (LB, Cowboys) and Wyatt Davis, G. But even at that, not sure Davis would make the team. He's on his 3rd or 4th team and he's been in the league for only 3 or 4 years.

Guess it depends how far along McKinnley Jackson is, since they only have BJ Hill, Rankins, Jenkins - and Carter, who really hasn't impressed in 2 years. Davis, the guy they picked up a few weeks ago, has some ballast and he's played in the league. If they IR Jackson, they might keep him, or grab someone off of the wire until Jackson returns - and then they'll have a decision to make.
