Potential Cuts from other teams

Recommended Posts

Wanted to make a little list. RB, DT and DE seem to be areas for additions. This is surely not a comprehensive list.

QB-I assume no one but maybe McCarron

RB-Might be looking for 2, Perine back to the 53 and a practice squad back

Samaje Perine-Broncos: I would assume he is back if cut. Probably on the active roster.

Emani Bailey-Chiefs: One of my favorite backs OVERALL in this class. I don't think he did much in the preseason but I am a big fan.

Dwayne McBride-Vikings: One of my favorite backs OVERALL in 2023 class. CUT 8/26

Kendre Miller-Saints: 2023 3rd rounder who has battle injuries and his coach seems to hate him. I think he has huge upside.

George Holani-Seahawks: One of my favorite backs in the 2024 class, undrafted

Isaiah Spiller-Chargers: 2022 4th rounder for the Chargers.

Israel Abanikanda-Jets: 2023 5th rounder for Jets.

Deuce Vaughn-Cowboys: This would be interesting. He is undersized but electric.

Jacob Saylors-Browns: He was in camp with us last year. Probably not much of an upgrade from Collins CUT 8/26

TE-I don't assume we want one but maybe we add one to the practice squad

Will Mallorry-Colts: Colts TE room is deep

Feliepe Franks-Panthers: Converted QB. Still has upside as a move TE

Sal Canella-Bucs: He lights up spring ball every year. I don't see how he doesn't find a place eventually

LB-I don't think we will be looking hard here but Bailey is deep on the bench in Arizona and could be great on the practice squad if he can't find a suitor

DE-Injuries and retirement rocked this position this year. if we need a bandaid to get through when Murphy comes back there are some familiar names

Khalid Kareem-Bears

Carl Lawson-Cowboys

Raymond Johnson-Jaguars-Cut 8/26

Tyler Lacy-Jaguars: 2023 4th rounder who might be on the outside of a deep room there

Jose Ramirez-Bucs: 2023 6th round pick. Got Jackson Carman cut by destroying him. Just 252 pounds but has upside.

DT-if Jackson goes on IR-R we will probably want someone. I don't know if any of these guys are really upgrades to the guys we have but the list of guys is interesting. We are probably missing a true double team eating nose more than anything on the roster

Josh Tupou-Ravens: 320lbs, Ex Bengal

DeShawn Williams-Bills: 284lbs: Bills, we have this type of player

Tommy Togiai-Falcons: 296lbs, OSU grad, Browns-Jags-Falcons

Kyle Peko-Lions: 305lbs, Domata's cousin

Isiah Mack-Dolphins: 305lbs

Armon Watts-Patriots: 307lbs, https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WattAr01.htm Stealers, Bears, Vikings

I really liked Israel Abanikanda coming out of Pitt, if he gets cut I would love to see the Bengals pick him up.

I could see the Bengals going after another OT after the cuts are announced as they are thin with the injuries to Mims, and Smith, while Brown's injury history is not good. If Brown gets hurt then Kirkland could be starting at RT which is not ideal.

I think the Bengals liked him also if I remember correctly

Why do we want Perine exactly?  What does he give us other than nostalgia?

Curious as to OL cuts..  unless our OL group is the best it could ever be and there's no point trying, or whatever.  :D

Pass blocking, pass catching.

The may need to get Kris Jenkins

up to 320 to provide  NT until Jackson is ready.

Rankins and BJ are solid but no double on either.

Jenkins said that he could gain the weight to play there.

His natural strength is an asset as well.

exactly. its all nostalgia. he has like 3 good games. and thats it. ever. well he was the only blocking RB on the roster at the time, but now we have 3. so nothing.

which RB cant block?we literally brought in the best rated blocking RB in the nfl in Moss. there isnt a single snap scenario id ather have perine than Moss or Brown on the field for.

is there a scenario you think he may be a better fit than Moss/Brown? both are faster more athletic, both can catch, Moss is a trendemdous blocker, Brown cant be worse than mixon. but its not a tell if Moss is on the field so youd just have moss there if blocking is needed i would think.

Just an extra vet guy? i guess im not against it, but i dont know how he finds snaps.

Perine 2022 was a much better blocker than Moss has ever been. I didn't watch him in 2023 so I can't say if he fell off.

I don't see where Moss is rated the best pass blocking RB. He appears to be an improvement over Mixon but that's not too tough.

Perine will be a Vonn Bell style addition. A veteran who knows how to be in the right place all the time that helps everyone else on the field.

It's possible his pass blocking and catching fell off but he did have 50 catches last year.
