Don't give up on Murphy just yet, he was starting to flash some last season then missed the first 4 games this year.  Not unusual for DL to take a while to really get comfortable.

 

Hopefully he & at least one of the 2 rookie DTs show up before the end of the year.

I never expected much of Rankins, think he was meant to be a placeholder in steady rotation with the draft picks until one of them took over.  Jenkins already has almost as many snaps since they started him against Balmer & the Giants.  Was in for more than half the game on D against Philly plus a couple of ST plays, but given the score that might have been too much.

I think Jenkins is going to be a good replacement for BJ Hill. Hopefully, Jackson can do at least some of what Reader did. I'd still love to get an Ogunjobi type.

I'd be happy with another Atkins or Reader.  Maybe a Bobbie Williams too, if we're wishlisting free agents.

I have never been a fire the coach guy unless it was painfully obvious the coach was way over his skis like the son of the Hall of Fame Dolphins coach. 
 

I have almost always blamed the front office for lack of talent and  personnel choices made, the most recent being letting Bates go. 
 

The other issue is they only half ass their actual jobs which is clearly evident by never doing anything at the trade deadline.  We used to joke about the family being on vacation during trade deadline week.  I don’t think we are far off. 
 

That said, Burrow is having a very average season for someone considered elite and unlike Mahomes, he can’t afford to be average with this defense.

Especially when he's making $11M this year. Between Hill (10M), Rankins (11M), Hubbard (10M), and Hendrickson (21M), we're eating up over $50M in cap space and we still can't stop the run or get to the QB.

btw... you can add Mild Murphy to the list. I don't have as much faith in him as others around here.
