Personally it sounded like an emotionally injured person lashing out.

I think we all know Chad is immature.

I will have to wait and see what actually comes of this, once tempers and emotions are dulled a bit in the offseason.

I love chad and what he brings to bengals but seriously what more back up he wants. The fucking owner of the team said he is going no where with equal number of times his HC does the same.QB the guy who throws the ball to him had his back in what how many times and his close friend TJ does it.How much more u want chad.

This whinning shit is getting old now.If you want to be the show boy for media take the negative also as u will get that
What the fuck does that mean?

You realize our defense sucks right? You also realize Chad is publically blasting our team and management?

Carson, Marvin, TJ and Mike Brown himself have all publically backed the guy and hes trying to play the whole "woe is me card"

I'm not saying to get rid of him just to get rid of him but if the price is right ANY player and coach is tradeable...

... some of you guys get waaaay too attached to players / coaches... obviously you aren't big baseball trade fans either then.
its just not affordable, next year, lets talk about a trade for chad, but this year, its a handicap for sure. chad leaves, we hve 9 mil on the table for a player thats not here, and then have to pay whomever we get in return..
Chad: Who has my back?
BY MARK CURNUTTE | MCURNUTTE@ENQUIRER.COM

The Chad Johnson trade-me-if-I’m-the-problem tour of sports radio hit the ground running this morning with his appearance on ESPN’s Mike & Mike in the Morning.

Asked what’s going to happen in the future with the Bengals, the wide receiver said,
“I’m not sure what’s going to happen. … I’ve been labeled as selfish, as the reason we’re losing. I’ve been told I’ve been a cancer to my team.”

Johnson’s campaign, anticipated as he grew more sullen during the season, is believed to be orchestrated by agent Drew Rosenhaus in an effort to get Johnson a new contract with another team.

A message left Friday on Johnson’s cell phone was not returned.

The Bengals finished 7-9. At midseason, when the team slumped to a 2-6 start, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that the Bengals had discussed the possibility of trading Johnson. Johnson did not speak to the Cincinnati-based media for the remainder of the season.

Head coach Marvin Lewis and team president Mike Brown, in an early November interview requested by The Enquirer, both said the team would not trade Johnson and that his contributions were valued.

“Chad Johnson is a tremendous football player,” Brown said in November. “We’re glad he’s here. He is an integral part of what we do. And he isn’t going anywhere.”

Johnson is under contract through 2011 with the Bengals. He signed a $35.5 million extension in April 2006.

Johnson, on Friday morning on ESPN radio, went on to say that if he is indeed a cancer, “then the team would need to get chemo. If I am a problem, the problem needs to be dealt with.”

Johnson said Friday morning that he was hurt because no one within the organization came to his defense.

“To do me the way I was done, not too many people really having my back within,” he said.

Johnson finished with a single-season franchise record 1,440 receiving yards. He has six consecutive seasons with 1,000 receiving yards.

“Now the season is over,” Johnson said on ESPN radio. “I was the problem, I have been a distraction. Chad Johnson, the fingers were pointed at me. My celebrations, all this stuff was the reason we were losing.

“The only thing for me to do or say now is, if you guys, as a team and organization, want to further yourself in the playoffs, I think you need to get rid of what the problem was during the season.”

The Bengals late Friday declined to comment on Johnson’s radio interview, Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said.
only if that's the way you want to interpret it. Nowhere does Chad ever even suggest that he wants to be traded. It was a title put in place for someone to actually, possibly, take a look at Curnutte's pice of shit blog. Nothing more. Mis-reporting at its finest.
Roast of 'Mike & Mike' in Atlantic City runs from brilliant to terrible
SCOTT CRONICK Staff Writer, 609-282-7017
Published: Saturday, January 12, 2008

ATLANTIC CITY - It was brutal. It was ridiculous. It was funny - some of the time.
It was also too long and uneven. There were too many guests. And, unfortunately, there wasn't a hook to pull some of them off the stage.

It was everything a roast should be: insulting, vulgar and fun. Unfortunately, the fun moments weren't frequent enough as Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg of the popular ESPN morning talk show "Mike & Mike" celebrated their eighth anniversary with a celebrity roast at a sold-out House of Blues.

If you were in the House Friday night, you were obviously a big sports fan, a listener of the show or both. There were a lot of in-jokes -hit and miss - but the problem with this roast, unlike a Comedy Central or Friar's Club roast, was that there weren't enough comedians.

Instead, the stage was mostly filled with athletes and ESPN personalities. Not comedians. And it showed. Fortunately, the professional comics who were there did their job.

Host Jeffrey Ross proved that he's worthy of roastmaster status. In fact, he deserves to headline a casino showroom. The guy absolutely killed from the moment he got on stage.
"My agent called and said, ‘I got a roast for you on ESPN. Guess who it's for?' Four hours later …" Ross joked.

"You look great for 89," he told former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, who got the loudest applause of anyone when he walked on stage. "Tonight's event was on his bucket list."

"This isn't a who's who," he said as he looked around the stage. "It's who didn't make the playoffs."

ESPN and NFL Network personality Nick Bakay was clever and humorous as usual, commenting on Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson and game-show host Wink Martindale: "Chad is one of the few people who could make Terrell Owens seem stable," he said. "Wink's hair is so bad that Donald Trump called and said to take it down a notch."

Surprisingly, the best jokes of the night weren't even aimed at Mike & Mike. In fact, some of the people who got up on stage didn't insult them at all. Most threw out jokes that Greenberg was a metrosexual and Golic was fat, but others, like Johnson, mostly talked about themselves.

But there were a couple of memorable ones.

On Greenberg hosting a recent ABC game show: "They called it ‘Duel' because the only two people who watched it shot each other. Mike Greenberg is to hosting game shows what Michael Vick is to hosting dog shows."

"Mike & Mike are so dull they make Mike Turico's show feel dangerous," Bakay added.

Comedian Eddie Griffin ("Undercover Brother") was a big crowd favorite as he railed on everyone, particularly paying attention to the guests of honor. "I kind of know my career is over when I'm hired to roast two white guys I never (expletive) heard of."

Ditka kept it short, but made the crowd laugh a few times, and former Jets star Joe Klecko recycled some old jokes, but was better than his fellow athletes.

But there were more bombs than success stories. Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis rambled for what seemed like forever, praising the duo and missing the whole point of the night. Ross summed it up best: "Thank you for that great sermon."

Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed had jokes written for him, but didn't read any. Admitting he was drunk, Reed was pulled off the stage by Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis and former Jets star Joe Klecko. "I didn't realize his middle name was ‘Can't,'" Ross joked.

Hosts Trey Wingo and Mark Schlereth were horrible leading off the show. Griffin said it best when he said Schlereth did "an hour of nothin'." Portis didn't elicit a chuckle, but at least kept it short. Martindale had a couple of laughs, but stayed on too long. And Johnson had very little to offer, not even a celebration dance.

ESPN anchor Dana Jacobson made an absolute fool of herself, swilling vodka from a Belvedere bottle, mumbling along and cursing like a sailor as Mike & Mike rested their heads in their hands in embarrassment. Griffin came to the podium to defend her after she was booed by the crowd. Ross eventually had to pull her off stage, too.

Another disappointment was that Golic and Greenberg didn't really say too much for the finale. Saying they had to keep it short because they had to go to the bathroom, the two pretty much thanked the crowd and left it at that.

Luckily, rock-pop trio Lifehouse played a semi-acoustic set to open the evening, performing a 20-minute, hit-filled set that included "Hanging By a Moment," "You and Me," "Falling Even More In Love With You" and "Who We Are." While short, the set was certainly sweet as frontman Jason Wade showed off his great vocal chops. It definitely added some value to the night.

While it had its moments, the three-hour night had too many downs and not enough ups. If they do this again, ESPN should hire more comedians … or at least comedians to write some jokes. Otherwise, they should just stick to sports.

If Chad feels that way....TRADE HIM! There are some good recievers coming out in the draft. <_<
There is not a single receiver coming out that can even replace 75% of Chads Productions

NAME REC YDS AVG YPG LNG TD FUM LST
3 Chad Johnson WR, CIN 93 1440 15.5 90.0 70 8 2 1
24 C. Johnson WR, DET 48 756 15.8 50.4 49 4 1 0

So Calvin Johnson is probably the best WR to come out over the past few years and his production is roughly 50% of what Chad put up in an off year for him! Not to mention if you take Chad out of our offense TJ's #s will suffer; at this point Henry isn't really the threat Chad is!

Like it or not his production would be impossible to replace and trading him for pennies would be a horrible move for this franchise!

Maybe after 8 years, Chad does not believe this organization is moving forward and realizes he will never make it to the playoffs here. We are not privy to what went on in the lockerroom this year so we have no idea how good or bad it was.

Chad has every right to whine. Sure he made some mistakes but he also made some brilliant plays and is our biggest offensive threat. So how do we treat him? Like garbage.

His clock is ticking and he must have lost faith with this organization much like Spikes and Dillon.

First off, Chad has been a Bengal for 7 seasons, not 8.

I also think it`s hilarious how you say none of us
are privy to what happened in the locker room,
say maybe, then pour out a bunch of bullshit speculation
and say he has lost faith, blah blah blah. And try to talk
like what you believe to be true, is actually true.

Fact is, this organization has treated Chad good.
They have re-done his contract twice in the past
4 seasons, both times with years left on his contract.
They didn`t have to do that. And he sure as hell didn`t
have to sign either of them.

I love Chad. I hope he retires a Bengal.
Let me say that again for emphasis, I love Chad,
I hope he retires a Bengal.
But let`s not act like he is perfect, and is an innocent victim.
He needs to grow up and quit pouting.
He needs to quit making shit up. He needs
to perform in big games. He needs to make
catches like the one he dropped against the 49ers.
If you`re going to say you want to be the best,
then carry yourself like it. If your going to wear
a jacket that says H.O.F on the back of it, then
be a H.O.F type player and show up more than
a few games during the season. And say "well
I got my numbers", and all the other shit he
said yesterday.

They need him to be part of the solution.
And quit being part of the problem. I`m not
saying Chad is, or was the reason for losing.
But he didn`t help them win much either.
And like a wise man once said, "Any good player
can go to a good team and help make them great.
But it takes a truly great player to help turn a bad team
into a great one." Chad needs to be a great player.
Instead of a good one, that pouts, bitches, moans,
and never has a finger to point at himself.

I cant entirely agree with those who say there is no way we can replace Chad's production.
First off if we had a defense worth a shit that could hold teams to around 17-20 points a game
we wouldnt have to worry about having to score 50+ points to beat teams like Cleveland.
Secondly as good a QB as Carson is he should be able to make an average/decent WR look
good as long as that person runs decent routes and has decent hands.

I cant remember how many times I've heard people on this board say "you cant have a
pro-bowler at every position. Well the only one's we've had were on offense and look what
that's got us so far. Not a damn thing so why not try something different.

I've yet to ever see anyone from the organization talk about Chad being a cancer or being traded.
You have no idea what they talk about behind closed doors.
