oldschooler
Hawks: T.J. sightings at Sea-Tac The T.J. Houshmandzadeh saga has reached the point where multiple people have reported seeing him – or someone who looks like him – at Sea-Tac airport this afternoon. The Bengals beat writer I've been working with on this when-will-it-end story also got the same report. No confirmation, yet. But I guess it won't hurt to hope.
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/footbal...ives/163195.asp
Hawks: Twin Peeks If T.J. Houshmandzadeh was at Sea-Tac airport this afternoon, it's news to his agent. "Must be a twin," Kennard McGuire just said in an email. "And I don't do gossip." But this when-will-he-sign/where-will-he-sign saga is taking on twists that would make David Lynch envious.
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/footbal...ives/163199.asp

TonyAPBTx
I didn't mention TJ when naming the players that I named. I also did not say that resigning our own players doesn't count. What I was saying is that of the players that you named that we did resign, only TJ was set to be a free agent. Even then, he wouldn't have been considered a top flight FA at that time. Now, we are having players that are our players who we want to resign and are offering money that is more or the same that other teams are and our own players are saying "No thank you, I'ld like to go to a competitive team." I'm not sure what I said that can be disputed? I know for a fact that NFL players do not view the Bengals as a top flight organization. I won't get into any more details on that particular topic but I shouldn't have to. Regardless of personal experiences, you can easily look at the Bengals FA history and history in general and see that we aren't a top flight place. Free Agent players do not come to the Bengals to compete for Super Bowls...
bengalsdave985
The only report so far is from National Football Post siting people seeing someone who looks like TJ at the airport I love his agent though with the "unless he has a twin" comment, priceless

oldschooler
Tony I don't really feel like deabting the topic with you. I will just say, that if TJ does sign with the Seahawks, it is not a lesser role. Their leading reciever was a Rookie TE. That was another thing I disagreed with btw. And Free Agents don't come to the Bengals because we don't go after Free Agents much. So the Super Bowl thing is moot.
Patmo
I'm hoping that we sign TJ in order to trade Chad for a pick or two.

bengaled
Well to offset all of our resigned folk there are a ton of folk who have came here and left without a contract. The Bengals often DO offer market value contracts but players truly don't want to play here. Peko, Carson, Chad, Levi, Willie and Whitworth were both resigned with multiple years left on the contract. Those were not FA signings or resignings when the players had an option to go somewhere else. Unless I am missing one of those resignings and they actually were eligible for free agency? It would have been stupid for any one of those players not to resign when they were promised guarantee money with multiple years left on their contract. Also, you would expect that the organization could resign some of their players. Also, what else don't you agree with? The history speaks for itself.
tony, you hit the nail on the head...good post. anyone who can't see we're at a disadvantage needs to clean their homer glasses. Bengals1181
In a way, I'm glad the Bengals offered what they did... It is a put your money where your mouth is situation for TJ now... put up or shut up. He either honors his word at this point, or he shows that he's a punk. Pretty cut and dried really. Deadline his ass to like 8:00 pm tonight EST.
agreed that there should be a deadline on our offer. Either he signs by such and such time or the team pulls the offer and moves on. The sad thing is, I think the team's #1 choice would be for TJ to take the offer and for them to trade Chad in return. So they're likely not going to put a deadline in place.
