when you're down to the last out, you go all out. It was close enough that he should have slid.
dude I'm telling you you aren't supposed to slide on a throw like that if you run down the inside of the line there's a solid chance it could hit him in the back. That's a much harder throw for the catcher then if he's sliding.

but anyways...weve beaten oswalt twice this year. Lets do it again.

UGH! YIKES! And other shit like that.

The Bengals go 15 years without a Playoff game and get Kimo'd.
The Reds go 15 years without a Playoff game and get Halladay'd.

I swear, sometimes I think Cincy is cursed.

Every Reds batter that left the plate to head back to the dugout just made
me slink farther and farther down on the couch. By the end of the game,
I was laying on the floor. No joke.

Oh well. Praying for a bounce back Friday.

whatever I like ocab standing up for himself.

all that matters is that if we win friday we are in the drivers seat. Just need to win 1 in philly and I think we can do it. Their hitting is overrated. Just get some runs off oswalt and we will be fine.

I still believe!

there's a difference between complaining about the umps and complaining about a the baseballs that are used by both teams pitchers not being rubbed down right or about your pitcher being sore from a kick to the back a month later after he was the one that started attacking people.

big difference between what ocab did and the cards. How often do you see rolen or ocab bitch? I'd say almost never. Both did tonight must have been a good reason.

The Philly pitchers are going to continue throwing the first pitch to every batter right over the plate if the reds aren't going to swing at it. FFS I think Phillips took the first pitch in his at bat RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE in the 9th with 2 outs. What are you trying to do? Run up his pitch count in that situation? Swing the fucking bat!!

How many times did Halladay throw a first pitch strike and the hitter just look at it come right over the plate? It had to have been at least 20. That's the best pitch you're going to see people, you might as well swing at it. Once you get behind to a pitcher like him (and ump for that matter) you're done.

Disgusted with the entire O's performance.

The only good thing that came out of this game was it showed our bullpen can shut them down if need be and we didn't even use chapman or rhodes.

Wood was lights out. He definitely needs to be the game 4 starter if it gets that far, he's thrown something like 13 straight scoreless innings against philly.

Switch wood to the rotation and put volquez in the pen. At least for this series. Put volquez back in the rotation if we make it to the NLCS.

No room for debbie downers in this board...take your negativity elsewhere :)
Not being a debbie downer, just being realistic. I really think Philly is the best team in baseball right now and our youth and inexperience is a mark against us.

Yeah we didnt get a great matchup, however, we have beaten Oswalt twice this year. If Arroyo can
have a good game and we can score some runs off Oswalt it would be huge.

As far as hamels, the reds in the past have been a team full of LH dominant hitters (Dunn,
Griffey, etc). We used to struggle mightly against LH pitchers. Now we are more RH dominant
with Gomes, Phillips, Ocab, Rolen, Stubbs, Hernandez/Hanny, Heisey, etc. I think we match up
much better against lefties this year then years past. (although hamels did shut us down
once this year).
