Hassleback to Tenn, Orton to Miami, McNabb to Minn, Kolb to AZ, Jackson and Leinart to Seattle.

It could very well be VY and good bye to the bad word - Palmer (J).

PS. It's always soP's way to sit back, not get caught up in the initial frenzy of overpaying and then be positioned as the last option for whoever didn't get a seat.

... and therein lies the root of our whole franchises problem;

Mike thinks we're playing musical chairs instead of football.

Love or hate Gradkowski, he's not so bad if they fix the oline and running game(which it looks like they may) and hopefully do something about the pass rush on defense.

And to be honest, he's going to know the system better than any other QB out there, and that's a BIG positive in this messed up offseason.

Gradkowski isn't very good.

Why do people claim that Jay Gruden's offense will be the same as Jon Gruden's? It doesn't make any sense. Jay wasn't Jon's offensive coordinator and Jon isn't working as Jay's assistant. It's about like saying Jim Harbaugh's offense will be the same as John Harbaugh's.

that's a pretty stupid analogy.

Jim and John never worked together.

Jay was on Jon's staff and helped develop the playbook and the weekly gameplan.

I think that's a stretch. Jay is probably in favor of signing Bruce just so he has someone that can line them up and explain.

I don't think the Bengals are entertaining the thought of Bruce just because of his endless QB potential. Clearly the Tampa and Jay conection is key.

Come on 1181, there's way too much fact in that, and not enough whining and moaning! Get your act in gear! :D

Great, so we're going to install a 5 year old playbook? I thought Brat's offense was stale. Face it, we've got a rookie OC installing his own version of the WCO adapted to our personnel. Do you really think the FB for the Bengals will be featured as much as Alstott was in Tampa?

Considering the fact that we were using a 10 year old playbook, 5 years old would be a step in the right direction.

do you really think gradkowski wouldn't be immensely more familiar with Gruden's system than any other QB out there?

It's not like it's going to matter. The whole offense has to learn it. Might as well get the best QB available or let Andy go out there and learn with them. Gradkowski is a golden turd. He just isn't very good and we would be better off throwing someone young to the wolves and praying.

Andy Dalton is probably a better QB today without even facing an NFL defense.

It's simple... Gradkowski knows Gruden's system from his days in Tampa Bay. Gradkowski comes in and there is a competition for starting QB, obviously the team wants Dalton to be the starter... and you have a back-up who is at least NOT lost in terms of knowing the play calls.

Not what I call a top choice either, but it's also not a stupid decision.

At last! someone talking sense! Bruce Grad would be ideal imho, considering how shit the FA QB class is this year! There's alot to be said for an errant QB playing under a familier coach in a familiar system. And right now in this strike shortened year, he would be the best option.....unfortunately may not be the starter we crave.
I get the feeling MB and ML are content with making Dalton starter and giving him support from an experienced 'system prepared' backup and not the other way round.
