Posted January 22, 201213 yr comment_1091109 I know the obvious answer will probably be Alexander but I think Fitzgerald has to be in there too. Yeah we got a couple stop gaps with Lawson and Howard but with his past experience with the ravens, i really had higher hopes for our LB play after Fitz came in... If you guys could pick one or two guys who would it be? Not saying they will happen, just for conversation...
January 22, 201213 yr comment_1091115 fitzgerald, he has not done anything seen leaving baltimore, with any of the linebackers here.paul alexander has had sucess in the past but nate living, mike mcglynn, dennis roland on this team is inexcuseable.both should fire right along with jay hayes.
January 22, 201213 yr comment_1091130 Alexander and Jon Hayes. The false starts and average play of this unit during the Marvin Era is laughable. It's time to move on. Jermaine Gresham is being wasted, Hayes isn't able to develop anyone. The friendships and loyalty around Bengals camp are really what is holding this team back from getting to the next level it seems. Cut the dead weight and bring in coaches with aggressive, winning attitudes.
January 22, 201213 yr comment_1091182 while marvin is here the hayes will never be let go, i read somewhere that they are lifelong friends

Friendship is no excuse for mediocrity. Jon Hayes has proven he cannot develop and coach players at this level. It's time to move on.

They touched on it in the HBO training camp stuff jay Hayes and Marvin have been friends for a loooong time.

Gresham is learning the game, he's not being wasted. How many quotes from Lewis and Gruden about Gresh doing things for the first time in his life this year without the benefit of an off-season do you people need to read before you'll even consider waiting another year to make a judgement?

Yes they play for the pats and they have Brady, but they are light years ahead of Gresham in terms of production. People just had high hopes for jermaine and its hard not to be disappointed a little. That being said, I think next year will be a big one for 84 with a full offseason with dalton and gruden.

Gresham would have 1,000 yards over there. Green would have had 2,600. Nothing against our man Dalton, but Tom Brady has turned a couple TE's and a 5'10" 190 lb receiver into some of the biggest playmakers in the game.

[/quote] Tom Brady shits out more NFL knowledge and experience than Dalton has and will have in the next 3 years. Gronk and Hernandez walked into a great situation on arguably a top 5 offensive Dynasty in the history of the NFL. They almost never block, they call a route and if there isn't a favorable matchup Tom will yell something and they run a different route. Gresham has never had to read a defense. He never really had to block until he came in last year. Andy Dalton likely had trouble figuring out who was his 2nd read for most of the season, let alone dictating audibles and hot routes to Gresham. They were learning cadence, breaking the huddle, formations and motions on the fly. For crying out loud they had issues with Gresham lining up on the wrong side of a formation at the beginning of the year, how can anyone expect that same guy to be a focal point of the offense? I really wonder how deeply people think about these things.
