Here's the thing: don't change two positions to fill one. Bring Faine in to fill the hole. Leave Boling where he is. Leave Roland and Trevor where they are.

if you're talking about in the middle of a game, I'd agree. But its still preseason. Move Boling.

Robinson looks REALLY bad at center. Besides, prior to the Wharton injury Boling was Cook's backup, so its not like Boling would be freshly moved to center. Boling already knows the position.

Plus, its much more important to be strong at center than strong at guard. And you'll have better luck finding a good guard on waivers or in a trade than a good center.

Maybe ... but Dalton is good at throwing in lanes and moving around to find an opening.

If the best G prospect coming out was 7 feet tall, I'm sure qb coaches and o coordinators would figure out a way to make it work...

I don't know much about Jeff but one thing i do rember, is most brown fans couldn't wait to cut bait with him. I hope he may have improved since then,if we are going to look at him.

Maybe they just didn't want to pay a mid level talent guy, top tier bucks after his rookie contract?

I seriously doubt he was devastated not to be re signed by the clowns either...

really REALLY nice guy, I spoke with Kyle when he hurt himself against the jets, he was concerned it was career ending at that point, i hope this doesnt clinch it, and I like the idea of Faine, get he has a VERY short time to get settled...

Sign his ass the second he steps off the plane...

How the hell did you talk to Kyle from Colorado?

I'd also be willing to trade one of next years second rounders for a starting C
Only way they do anything remotely close to that is if it really is career threatening like GO said...

the challenge is, teams don't cut or trade good olinemen.

There's going to be a limited amount of quality out there, which is why you should take your best in-house center (Boling) and put him in place and then work on filling the hole at left guard which will be easier to fill.

Anybody know of a team that had 2 C's battling each other out? Maybe 1 won the job and the other is trade bait?

Teams that drafted a C high that already had a C on the roster? Where did Konz go?

Atlanta, but I think he's been struggling.

This would be third time for [s]#[/s]Bengals in Lewis era starting C injured early in season; Richie Braham in 2004 and 2006 were others.

This could work...but Boling has a lot more reps at guard than center (has he even played there this preseason?).

Faine was only moved out of Tampa because they wanted to go young with Zuttah, and had just signed Nicks. Dude has done nothing but start at center for them and NO after leaving Cleveland. Just my preference...but I would rather they went this way.

Maybe the majority that take Kyle Cook for granted will see what the[s]#[/s]Bengals lose while he is injured.[/background]

I wrote today on chance [s]#[/s]Bengals swing another preseason trade. Possibly severe Cook injury increases probability. http://cbsprt.co/U6pHLx

well if you made the decision now, he'd have nearly two weeks worth of reps and playbook time to refresh himself on a position he's already learned once and likely has already gotten some practice snaps with dalton during camp.
