Perine got the majority of the snaps in the Chiefs game and is more than capable of being the feature back. Also Chris Evans has been a healthy scratch for multiple games this year. Almost seems as if the backfield will consists of Perine and Evans next season. I would be OK with that.
January 31, 20232 yr comment_1697574 Mixon is interesting, is it him or the game plan? when the run game is hot, Mixon has been hot.

Im thinkng they look for another RB in late rounds to challenge his roster spot.. Tteyveon Williams is still here as well..

When he runs confidently he's a force. When he doesn't, he's lame. I know there aren't all that many holes created by the OL, but he makes it worse running high and dancing.

I remember radio announcer saying Perine runs under the defenders shoulders or helmets.. Mixon runs straight up and easier to bring down.

January 31, 20232 yr comment_1697585 Yes, Mixon is under contract for 2023. So he doesn't need to be re-signed. But he's overpaid for what he provides and has lost a step. I wouldn't be surprised if he's cut this offseason and would be surprised if he plays out this year and next on his current deal. We could find a good RB in the 4th or 5th round.

January 31, 20232 yr comment_1697590 I actually think they will move on from Mixon. The team has become a bit more clinical with contracts , and rightly so, you have to look at the cost in the next year and the value and he does not bring it. Work on the OL , sign JB and the 2 WRs and I don’t even care who the RB is.
February 1, 20232 yr comment_1697685 Yeah, I'd rather keep Wilson for 12 mil (or Hurst+Bell or Apple, etc) than Mixon.

I just read this and it gives me great hope for the future of this team (not that I didn't already have it). How can you NOT love these guys?
February 7, 20232 yr comment_1697975 Was just the last bad call in a game that will only be remembered for terrible calls. Ossai's best days are still ahead of him.
