Tee Higgins requests a trade !

Recommended Posts

Anyone who is mad at Higgins or his agent is a complete clown, Tee's doing what's best for him and his future as are the Bengals. If the Bengals valued Tee they would re-sign him to a long term deal, they clearly don't. His agent is doing his job, getting the most money possible for his client...if you had an skill set that required you to have an agent you would want an agent just like the one Tee has.

If you want to be a mad at someone, look at the Bengals front office for not paying Tee what the market will give him. I can't fathom why anyone would side with a multi-billion dollar corporation over an individual that is producing the product and putting their literal lives on the line while doing so, you would think that fans of the sport would want to see their favorite players get paid what they deserve, which is the best deal they can negotiate when they have a hot market for their services.

To me, this isn't even newsworthy. An NFL player is disappointed in being tagged and would rather have a long term deal?!? Shocking. I was one of the few people who were content with Tee Higgins as our #1 WR but, now that Chase is here it's time for Tee to go. I said the day after they drafted Ja'Marr that Higgins was going to be gone. We all knew it. My hope when they tagged him was that they'd find a solid trade offer, move him, draft his replacement and move on. He may be worth $20 million+ per year to some team but, not this one. This isn't a "Fuck You Tee" post. I like the guy. He's a solid WR but he's also a solid #2 here and that's not going to get him the money he wants/needs.

Agree...Trade him for a late 1st or very early 2nd ( Carolina #33)

Something of that nature.

BJ isn't wrong about dealing with his agent....

Btw..do you anything about Lost?

Wondering what happened to him.

Pittman just got 3 years 71 million. That's a fair contract. Send it to tee and lets be done

Pittman has been more productive than Tee during his 4 years. They were picked back to back in 2020. Tee would have to take less than Pittman got.

The agent is doing his job, which is why so many good players have decided to make him their agent. From a player's perspective, they have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get as much money as they can so having an agent that maximizes that opportunity makes sense. NFL franchises find ways to pay the players they want to keep, if your favorite team isn't paying for your favorite player you should be angry at the team for being cheap, not the player for wanting to get paid for his services or the agent for doing his job.

David Mulugheta is looking out for the players by getting them something every other pro sports league has, fully guaranteed contracts and maximizing their earning potential. NFL franchises make billions of dollars every year, but most of the players play on contracts that allow them to be cut for a fraction of what they agreed to, that is a broken system that needs to change for the betterment of the players and Mulugheta is leading the charge to do that.

He's not screwing over his clients by convincing them to take team-friendly deals that favor the multi-billion dollar organization in hopes that he will be able to do business with them in the future as some agents do. He's acting as a fiduciary and putting his client's financial future first because he knows that one team will eventually pay and ultimately the more money you can make by playing in the NFL the better.

Boo fucking hoo ... The tag helps keep some of these contracts from getting out of hand and a few players from hogging all the salary cap for themselves.

The Bengals haven't had any conversations about extending Higgins in over a year but somehow it's Tee and his greedy agents' fault...make it make sense.

The tag helps the teams keep labor on short-term deals that benefit them, not the players. They get to pay these players what they would get on the open market without the player having the ability to go where he wants to go or to whom will pay him the most amount of money...if you were in the same situation as Tee Higgins you would do the same thing if you were smart and had a good agent.

Also, how is he throwing a tantrum, he's asking to be traded to a team that wants to give him a long-term deal...does that make him a child...wtf is Paul Dehner talking about...the Cincy sports media is a weird bunch.

Since there is a salary cap and requirement that every team spend 90% of it, it isn't as if the owners get to keep more money personally by not paying certain players more.

I would rather see the Drew Samples of the NFL get 4 million instead of 3, than a few average QBs all get 50 million and WR/DE all get 35.

An irrational free agent bidding war is bad for the second tier players as it causes the first tier to hoard all the cap. That's likely why the other players wouldn't even vote to get rid of the tag if they had the chance. As it helps them.

I haven’t had to announce “Anti-Christ Alert” for Tee yet. But it’s getting close.

Predicted reactions over the rest of the week—in increasing order:

“He is just a #2 WR…why can’t he just accept that?

”His agent will make him hold out unless traded”

”You can’t have a cancer like this in your locker room”

”He isn’t good anyway—look at the stats! Charlie Jones will easily out-produce him”

”Take anything in a trade. He hates it here.”

“Joe hates him too, and wishes he were gone. Saw it on Tik Tok”
