Add Hudson's shoulda-been TD vs New England, and it's 6-1 and best record in the NFL.

Which only goes to underscore the razor thin margin between winning & losing in the NFL. Every little thing matters, and can make a massive difference. And that attention to detail, along with mastering the mundane, starts with coaching.

Geisecki** still have no idea why the nfl said that should have stood a TD, but ill be bitching about it screwing us for years since they did.

well.... not getting fucked by officials and being able to field healthy players probably make us 6-1 also... but we are what we are.

i think this week is going to be a tough one to win, i only think we could win in a shootout form. too many playmakers to keep at bay on that offense i think. but we have such a mish mash viewing of the defense so far with the 7?8? 9? injuries costing players time in the first 6-7 weeks. if they played their best game yet, we could win scoring 25 points, but i think its gonna take 35-38 to win this one.

Mike G’s was ruled a touchdown on the field, then reversed via replay. Absolute BS. Hudson should have had a TD also, but fumbled at the 1 yard line.

Agree that this week will be tough, but they have to win these home games. If they can pressure Hurts, they should have some success defensively. No pressure = cooked against this Philly offense.

NFL picks, score predictions for Week 8: Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals

NFL picks, score predictions for Week 8: Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals image

Officially on their first winning streak since November of 2023, the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) travel to Paycor Stadium on Sunday (1 p.m., EST) to take on the Cincinnati Bengals (3-4).

In fact, this is randomly a matchup of teams who have been studying the same opponents over the past two weeks.

The Eagles emerged from their Week 5 bye with an ugly, 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns, before trouncing the New York Giants last week, 28-3,

behind Saquon Barkley’s huge game in his return to MetLife Stadium.

The Bengals outlasted the Giants, 17-7, on Sunday Night Football in Week 6, before scoring what has been a rare win over the Browns in quarterback Joe Burrow’s tenure, 21-14, this past weekend. Burrow is now 2-5 in his career against the Browns.

The formula has been simple for Philadelphia: protect the football on offense and get after the opposing quarterback on defense. Philly lost the turnover battle in each of its first four games of 2024, giving the ball away a total of eight times. It has no turnovers in its last two games, and the defense has piled up 13 sacks over that span.

The Bengals are a tough team to gauge. They could easily be 5-2, but somehow lost the season opener at home to the New England Patriots, a team that’s spiraled with six consecutive losses ever since. Cincinnati also gave one away at home in a brutal, 41-38, loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.

Which team will emerge from Week 8 on a three-game win streak? NFL analysts and writers weighed in on Eagles-Bengals this week, with score predictions:

NFL picks, predictions Week 8: Eagles at Bengals

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Eagles 27, Benglas 24

Iyer: “The Eagles got Saquon Barkley rolling along with Jalen Hurts on the ground in Week 7, and they can work together to exploit the Bengals' key weakness. Joe Burrow will be game to try to out-duel his fellow 2020 draft QB with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins taking on some exploitable corners, but A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will also prove they are a dynamic receiving duo in their own right as Cincinnati keeps slipping at home.”

Bill Bender, Sporting News: Eagles 31, Bengals 28

Bender: “The Bengals have built a two-game win streak, and Joe Burrow will try to lead Cincinnati to its first home victory of the season. Burrow owns a 75.5-percent completion percentage with eight TDs and one interception in those games. Can the Bengals slow down a Philadelphia rushing attack led by Saquon Barkley that ranks second in the NFL with 166.7 yards per game? This could turn into a shootout in the second half.”

Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Eagles 27, Bengals 23

Cluff: “The Bengals are 3-4 after a rough start, but the Eagles have been rolling since A.J. Brown's return.”

Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: Eagles 27, Bengals 24

Johnson: “The Philadelphia Eagles bot to beat up some bad competition in the last two weeks. Now comes a tougher test. While the Cincinnati Bengals record puts them near the bottom of the NFL standings, Joe Burrow and Co. have more than enough to win a potential shootout. However, the Eagles defense has performed much better as of late and as long as Jalen Hurts protects the football, the Eagles should come out of Week 8 with a big win.”

Ben Rolfe, Pro Football Network: Eagles 24, Bengals 21

Rolfe: “The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t always looked convincing, but statistically, they are the superior team … Cincinnati has the slightly better offense in terms of numbers but only scored 17 points against the Giants on the road, while Philadelphia managed 28. The Eagles also have the better defense, which should serve them well in this matchup against a 28th-ranked Bengals defense. … Although I’m not a big believer in the Eagles, I’m even less of a believer in the Bengals.”

Consensus: Eagles 27, Bengals 24

As of yesterday afternoon, Hard Rock Casino Sports Book tends to agree.  -2.5

Hope they're wrong.

Go Cleveland and NY Gnats, pull a rabbit out of your asses and beat

the Rats and Squeels collectively.

The Following Week...

Go Denver beat the Rats

Go Chargers beat the Browns just because

Go Bye Week beat the Squeels.

The refs and some of our own screw ups put us in the

position where every game is a must win and we, like

Blanch DuBois in "Streetcar Named Desire" are depending

on the kindness of strangers.

If that's the best they can come up with for the Ruler of the Jungle schtick... maybe time to rethink it.

Ahhyess.   Now that's the kind of high-class quality entertainment I expect from a multi-billion dollar pro sports franchise.

Always liked the Frisbee Dogs, too.

We gotta get the Pumpkinettes:wub: crackin' on this.

They're bumping the bunny lately with their promotions when they're down to

unknown wrestlers as the Ruler of the Jungle.  Bring Bootsy back.  He's in the stadium for

every game, anyway.

And a donut and Spam sandwich.... wow... just wow.

If you were on Death Row and requested this as your last meal, they wouldn't give it to you, figuring you were just trying to cheat the hangman.

The only thing that's missing is antifreeze dipping sauce.

I wonder why we haven't seen this white jersey again?

The team never wanted to wear that jersey with the white helmets, but in 2022 the league had a rule that alternate color shells had to be paired with classic, alternate, or color rush jerseys. They couldn't be paired with a regularly-worn jersey. Last year the team petitioned the league to let them wear the white helmet with the regular white jersey and the request was granted.
