3:20 p.m.

GEORGETOWN, Ky _ And then there were none.

According to one of the agents for cornerback Leon Hall, his client is going to be at practice when the Bengals step on the field Saturday night at Georgetown College for their second practice of the day and third of training camp to make attendance 100 percent. Hall, the Michigan cornerback taken with the 18th pick, is believed to have agreed on a five-year deal.

Per their policy, the Bengals will most likely announce the deal after he arrives here and signs the contract.

Cool! And today I got approved for my new car! I pick it up on Monday. It's a good day!

This isn't the actual car, but it's pretty close to what it looks like:
I hope you replace the #7 sticker with a #9... :P

Are you getting that color? It's a tad too close to Tennessee orange, but still pretty cool.
Yep, that color. Paint and top. It's the closest they had to Bengal orange.
Agent: Hall signs for 5

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- Cornerback Leon Hall has arrived at training camp late this afternoon to sign a five-year contract, agent Doug Hendrickson said.

The deal is for $13.6 million in maximum value with $8.2 million in guaranteed money.

"Leon is very excited about getting to camp and helping the Bengals this year," Hendrickson said in an e-mail to The Enquirer.

The first-round draft pick from Michigan, the last of seven picks to agree to terms, is expected to practice at 7 p.m. and talk with reporters afterward.

Hall will have missed just two training camp practices.

"We’re excited to have Leon here, and I compliment our management and his representatives for getting the contract finished,” head coach Marvin Lewis said in a statement released by the Bengals a few minutes after 6 p.m. "Now it’s time for Leon to take advantage of a great opportunity and make us a better football team."

According to the Bengals PR staff, Hall, a consensus 2006 All-American, earned elite grades for both coverage and run support during a 50-game career with one of the nation’s top college programs.

He did set a Michigan career record for passes defensed (43) and ranks tied for fourth in school history with 12 interceptions.
Bengals' Hall to get at least $8 million in guaranteed money in first NFL contract

Standout cornerback Leon Hall, the first-round draft choice of the Cincinnati Bengals, on Saturday evening reached agreement on his first NFL contract.

Hall, 22, will sign a five-year contract worth $13.1 million and with guarantees worth slightly more than $8 million. He was the 18th overall player chosen in this year's draft.

This is the second straight year in which the Bengals chose a cornerback in the first round. Last year's top pick, Johnathan Joseph, is projected as a starter in 2007, although he is recovering from a broken foot suffered earlier this spring. Hall is expected to serve as the nickel cornerback this season, although he could eventually challenge veteran Deltha O'Neal for playing time.

Regarded by many as the top cornerback prospect in this year's draft, Hall is a tenacious man-to-man defender. He has a solid physique, and at 5-feet-11 ¼, 193 pounds, combines toughness and quickness. Hall is a strong player in run support as evidenced by his three seasons of 50-plus tackles for the Michigan Wolverines.

He finished his college career with 180 tackles, 12 interceptions, 43 passes defensed, four sacks, one forced fumble and five recoveries. Hall, 22, played in 50 games and started 37 contests.

At the combine workouts, Hall posted a 4.39-second time in the 40-yard dash and also had a 37 ½-inch vertical jump. The Bengals, who have suffered more than their share of off-field problems in recent seasons, are also impressed by Hall's maturity and strong character.
Quite a Hall: Bengals sign top pick

Associated Press

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Cincinnati Bengals signed first-round draft pick Leon Hall to a five-year deal Saturday, that guarantees him $8.2 million and could be worth $13.6 million overall, his agent said.

Hall, a cornerback from Michigan, was the last of the Bengals' seven draft picks to sign. He missed two practices, on Friday and on Saturday morning, but reported to camp in time for the Saturday night session at Georgetown College.

"Leon is very excited to have this finished and to get on with camp," agent Doug Hendrickson said. "He never wanted to miss any time at all, but he knew the business part had to be handled."

Hall said he had expected to wrap up a deal quickly.

"I didn't think it was going to go past today, so I wasn't too worried too much," Hall said. "Personally, I wasn't paying too much attention to it, but sometimes people would text me or my agent would call me to let me know the updates."

Hall, who was taken 18th overall, set a Michigan record for passes defensed (43) and tied for fourth in career interceptions (12).

"We're excited to have Leon here, and I compliment our management and his representatives for getting the contract finished," coach Marvin Lewis said. "Now it's time for Leon to take advantage of a great opportunity and make us a better football team."

Hall is listed as the backup to starter and two-time Pro Bowler Deltha O'Neal at one corner, with Johnathan Joseph, last year's No. 1 pick, the starter on the opposite side.

Joseph has not practiced this training camp because of a foot injury suffered during the team's June mini-camp.
