Stevie Richards
I honestly didn't know Tank was a free agent.
Rick
AFTER reading and thinking about ALL of the posts about Tank Johnson, I have changed my mind. I do want the Bengals to sign him. He would be a great addition to our Defense. IF we can trade-up and get Curry, we WILL win the AFCN. Our defense would start looking like a Steelers' kind-of-defense. OK, you guys changed my mind. Let's sign Tank.
Memphis_Bengal
Sign him! I hated the re-signing of Henry but I would be all for a guy that has kept his nose clean this long. He was not a habitual offender as far as I know.
-Dan_Bengals_FL-
I'm all for signing Tank. And Roy Williams. Close out our FA with signing a certain center I want and then we can attack the rest of our needs in the draft.

Even if he is a model citizen while in Cincy, his stigma combined with ours would be a media circus.
Who cares what the media will say, they say it and will continue to say it regardless of if we sign Tank Johnson or not. If it upgrades your team, with all factors considered, then you do it.
Thanks, but No Tanks!
Ha......I see what you did there. I thought he had a bunch of guns that weren't registered, which isn't that big a deal. Regardless, if he can play and upgrade the team, then sign him.
eh.. a"bunch" is an understatement... the guy was ready for war... and the charges were quite serious. that said, he has been clean and no issues since so if he wants to come play backup.. im game.. What Tank had then is a drop in the bucket to the average buyer throughout the USA. People are buying ammo by the skid. Oh, and it doesn't matter what politics you believe. Ammo buyers belong to every party. Tank's problem was that he played for Chicago and kept his guns locally, ...bad move!

high plains drifter
If he can be an upgrade and at a decent price, sign him. The media can kiss my grapefuit. Other teams go after problematic players constantly without criticism from the media, yet all questionables for the Bengals are headlined continuously. Screwem! |Lucid|
People need to realize that most sports media is entirely reactionary.. There are a few real pros who actually have insight and connections... But most are just parrots and vulchers. The only thing that is going to change the things people write and say about the Bengals is winning. That's it, plain and simple. If we lose, they will write about why we lose. It doesn't matter if the perception is character, talent, facilities, ownership... Whatever.. It doesn't mean that any of what these people are writing or saying actually has any truth to it. Including what the media will say about your decisions in football is truly akin to chasing your tail.

ChicagoBengal
In a 4-3 rotation with Sims and Shirley he would be a very nice piece of the puzzle. I'd be for paying the man.
