Lewdog
I was just making argument for Melky cause the points you were making were inncorrect. I also never brought up the idea. He would be a good addition and much needed one but at they end of the day he probably won't be a Red.
Besides getting the 100 game suspension wrong and skipping to the life time ban, everything else was mere opinion and not facts. So I would really categorize them as 'points.' If I was going to categorize it as anything, I would call it mistaken. It was would be something totally different if there was no life time ban at all. Just saying... Jason
Disappointing way to end the season, but the future is very bright. Our best players are either under control due to YOS or locked up long term. Cozart and Frazier should progress next year. Looks like Homer is starting to blossom, and Mat should keep getting better as well.

Jamie_B
Moving Chapman to the starting rotation will push Leake off the roster, so Im ok with that. We will need to find a dominate closer though, any chance we give Madson another chance? Anyone in the farm system close to ready?
Bengals1181
Stick with Leake and leave Chapman as the closer. Chapman is dominant in the role, and there's no reason to give up on Leake so soon. Reds have a really solid 1-4 with Cueto/Latos/Bailey/Arroyo. IMO Chapman is more valuable as the closer than adding to an already solid rotation. Besides, Chapman can't be a starter until he learns to keep runners from stealing on him. Lewdog
I think we may have seen the last of Arroyo in a starter role. I can see them moving him into long relief or getting rid of him altogether because of his salary.
The only reason he won so many games this year was because of the run support he had, versus a guy like Leake who got horrible run support. Arroyo is good for one or more homeruns a game at Great American Ballpark. He is a flyball pitcher and that is not going to change. He needs to be pitching in places like San Diego or Seattle. I like the guy and he has definitely been the best of the trade for Willy Mo Pena. I just think it is about time to move on. He would definitely be a high priced long reliever, but the Reds need to continually get younger.

Lewdog
This makes me just sick to my stomach. On Sportscenter they showed highlights from the Yankees and Tigers games where Jeter broke his ankle. Obviously he is done for the season. I would maybe feel bad for the guy, but he has played in 158 career playoff games. WTF! He has almost played an entire regular season worth of playoff games. Yankees fans are some spoiled mofo's.

Yes, he would have started this game, but the same result could have happened. I chalk up Friday night to experience and laying off the gas. St. Louis is the defending champs, they weren't going to give up, and 6-0 is nothing in baseball that early in a game.
