Maybe once Latos comes back Simon will help that cause...unless Bailey keeps pitching like he spent all his money on hookers and blow...

Yeah IDK what Homer's problem might be, but I don't see how you send Simon back to the 'pen until (unless) he gets it together. Considering that Latos seems like he would get hurt watching baseball on TV right now, though, it probably won't be an issue any time soon.

Simon is on fire.  No doubt.  Makes it a lot easier to ease Latos back in there.

Wonder why he didn't get run while Cueto and Cingrani went down.

I mean, I fully expect him to come back down to Earth at least somewhat as teams get more tape on him to scout, but yeah..  Assuming no reversal in their respective fortunes, I foresee a mysteriously sprained whatever and a trip to the DL for Bailey when Latos returns.  Let him get his shit together in triple-A.

That's not a bad idea if Bailey keeps shitting the bed. He's having control issues, his velocity is good. I am as surprised as the next guy about Simon. IIRC he wasn't always lights out like this in relief last season. **Looks up stats** Hmmm...6-4 in 63 games with a 2.87 ERA. Not bad at all, actually.

Brandon Phillips photo-bombed some Olympians the other day, love this dude.

Some windbag on the radio, think it was Broo, tried to say this was when he strained his back & not at the plate. Broo says so many things that make no sense though it may have been someone else. I'm no sabremetricologist but for a game as overanalyzed as baseball it's amazing how much stuff I hear that is refuted by glancing at the most basic stats: RBI's, OBP, RISP.. Nothing that arcane, even. Heard Lance lump Frazier in with Cozart recently when they've been almost exact opposites defensively & at bat.

Anyway I was thinking now would be a good time for Bailey to remind everyone why the team owes him $100 mil. First road series win, relative rosters & payroll, all that good stuff that goes out the window at first pitch. I looked up his contract though & noticed theres a $5m buyout, he's only making $3m this year, and unless he is traded that the majority of each year's salary is deferred until "Fall". Not quite as hamstrung as they could be, in other words, but I still expect him to go back to being the guy who already has 2 no-hitters under his belt, earn that $25m option instead of the buyout, become the unchallenged ace in the line-up, win the Cy Young, find Sasquatch..

tl;dr Phillips is the heart of this team & I hope Good Homer shows up.
