sparky151
Since we're in the top 10 in cap space, even after tagging Tee, we should be able to add at least 1 high end outside free agent. NT or RT look like the best spots to sign a new starter. We can take a rookie to start at the other one. We aren't likely to re-sign (at least at the start of free agency) guys like Williams, Awuzie, Boyd, or Reader. We'll probably re-sign our depth guys after a couple of days unless they get a good offer elsewhere. But we should be able to add a $20 mil free agent somewhere. Or maybe we split it across more guys and draft BPA all the way through.

So which position would you rather have struggle through the first half of the season (at least)? Counting on a rookie RT or NT sounds like a great way to get a higher draft pick for whatever rookie starter we need to foolishly rely on for the next season. This isn't a choice of free agent or draft pick, they need to do both if they expect better results than last year.

You lose/trade Player X…then Player Y needs to get you at least what you lost—hopefully better. And not in the “coming years”…but now. Nothing they can do about Reader being hurt…they are forced to roll the bones. But there is no excuse at all to do nothing with proven commodities on the roster, and go to the table with Chuck Fizzle and B. Hopeful from Someplace U.

HavePityPlease
19 hours ago, Griever said: TBH that sounds like what some predicted - they really do want him, but only at a certain price. "We'd like to" sounds pretty weak, which might be implying that the agent/Tee are threatening a hold out/force-out like so many WRs have done recently, and the FO realizes it might be futile. If we can get a 1st+ for him, that's fine by me. This isn't Madden, we're not going to be able stack every position just because. Fix the broken areas (and there are a number of them) using whatever means required - which often means reducing your stacked positions to fill the weak ones.
