|High School Harry|
https://www.fox19.com/2024/09/06/jamarr-chase-bengals-close-deal-star-wr-says/ Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals ‘close’ on deal, star WR says Ja'Marr Chase talks with media By Jared Goffinet, Joe Danneman and Jeremy Rauch Published: Sep. 6, 2024 at 12:35 PM EDT|Updated: 2 hours ago CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A new deal between the Cincinnati Bengals and Ja’Marr Chase is close, the star wide receiver told media Friday. He told reporters Friday that his deadline for a new contract was Friday, and “Who knows what’s going to happen.” That comment was after he said, “We’re pretty close” on his sought-after deal. Whether or not Chase will play against the New England Patriots appears to be up in the air. Chase himself said he would play Sunday even if he doesn’t have a new contract by kickoff. He added that he considers himself a game-time decision. Head coach Zac Taylor did not offer a more clear answer, saying, “We’ll see,” when asked if Chase will play Week 1. Chase, who returned to practice just two days ago, wants a new long-term contract. With no deal in place, he has set out a majority of Bengals practices. Chase told reporters he could “probably” play 40 or 50 offensive snaps if he is on the field against New England. How much money is Chase wanting in a new contract? **** Now we know the hold up...

Randle P McMurphy
Something I've been tossing around in the New England thread. Ja'Marr Chase and BJ Hill to Washington for Daron Payne, Noah Brown and a 1st rounder. Rework Payne's contract to fit under the cap this year. Daron Payne solves our NT issue and slide Rankins over to the 3tech DT spot. BJ Hill is going to be a FA next year anyways and including him in the trade creates cap space needed to bring in Daron Payne. Noah Brown is no Chase but he's decent enough to ease the pain a little and is only getting paid $1.2 million this year. The 1st round pick from Washington is at best a top 5 pick, at worst a top 10 pick. Roll into next year with that pick and our own 1st rounder. So it's not assured he's going to play game one.

What do you think Burrow is going to say when you trade away his best WR who he won a Natl Championship and AFC Championship with? Burrow and Chase are a packaged deal and always have been. I am sure they promised Burrow as much when he was extended. Chase isn't going anywhere. Nor should he. He's the best WR to ever wear stripes and probably the 3rd best Bengals player ever after Munoz and Burrow. 1

Even Chase stated that the Bengals HAVE bent over backwards to make it happen like Mike Brown stated so it's CHASE who is refusing to accept the offer. It's not like the Bengals HAVEN'T tried! That's on Chase, NOT the Bengals!
KA14_HOF
With Tee doutbul for Sunday, I just don't see Ja'Marr sitting Sunday. I think he feels too great a responsibility toward his teammates to let them take the field w/o their top 2 receivers. It would also be a P.R. faux pas. I mean, he IS under contract to play. Even w/o a deal, I would be shocked if he doesn't take the field vs New England.

He's already committed a PR "faux pas," as you say by admitting the Bengals have "bent over backwards," like Mike Brown said they would and yet he still hasn't signed an extension. Yes! AND with lesser talented QB's than Burrow! 2 that played their 4th year without a peep. 1 even injured and out 7 games and STILL got his deal! (Jefferson) It's not like the Bengals haven't been trying since it's been reported these negotiations have been going on for close to 6 months. So, in order for me to "put down the crack pipe," I'd have to get it from you first! You want to trade Jamarr Chase for Noah Brown and a draft pick, the same Noah Brown that was just cut by the Texans...that's some crackhead shit.. As for Carman, I wasn't defending him. I thought people celebrating him getting cut was ridiculous because he's a human being who got fired and generally that's not something most people celebrate, but I guess because he plays for your favorite football team it makes it ok...whatever that's weird. You're a weirdo for trying to equate me to saying I thought a thread about one player getting cut was stupid to say I'm condoning him sexually assaulting a minor. Based on the reports Jackson was 18 and the girl was 15, he says it was consensual and she said it wasn't but didn't report anything until 2 years after the encounter. I wasn't there, so obviously I don't know what happened, regardless that has nothing to do with him being cut because the Bengals knew about it before they drafted him. If he played at an All-Pro level you wouldn't give a shit, so stop your hypocritical, self-righteous bullshit. Jackson didn't draft himself in the 2nd round nor switch his positions 3 times within 3 years so the Bengals share just as much blame for his lack of success as Jackson does. Also, the Bengals haven't developed a single OL that they drafted in the past 5 years, Volson is the only starter they drafted and he's the weak link on the offensive line..so maybe, just maybe the Bengals org doesn't know how to scout, draft, or develop offensive line talent. Don't try to paint me as someone who condones sexually assaulting a minor because you are full of dumb ideas..you spent the last month spouting bs about Chase to find out the Bengals are the ones who started this whole extension in the 3rd year idea and not Chase, but you still cling to your bs, call him disgruntled, and say we should trade him for Noah Brown.. Stop being a clown, get your head out of your ass, and realize that the Bengals are not trading him.

Randle P McMurphy
Like you said, I've been posting for like the last month. Before that my last post was around draft time in 2020. Took time away from here because it was beginning to get like MikeBrownSucks.com You'd think I would come back and post during the Bengals greatest success in 30 years but I didn't. I do come back and see that NOTHING has really changed because if a poster doesn't go along, singing "Kumbaya" with the rest of the group, then their "clowns" or "need to get their heads out of their asses." FUCK THAT THOUGH!! If you can't have a civilized "debate" then maybe the internet isn't for you! I'm not going anywhere!!

But by the end he will eclipse them all and could even have more pro bowls than Munoz (11). Which WR would you say was more talented? Chad himself admits Ja'Marr is better than him. Randle P McMurphy
You highlighted the start then go on to say by the end he eclipses them all. It's also possible he suffers a career ending injury as well. So it's hypothetical. So while Chad admits Ja'Marr is better, hypothetically he might not have the same results when it's all said and done. A.J. Green was no slouch either.
