Watching Eric All absolutely crush people is fun.  We haven't had a TE like him in a long time.

I like the RB tandem.  I wouldn't change anything.  Moss is rock solid and makes the best out of what he has in front of him.  Brown is the guy you bring in after Moss softens 'em up.

I can see why Gesicki moves from team to team.  What a fancy boy.  Talented, sure.  Just unreliable.

Getting tired of Cam Taylor-Britt's act.  I he injured, or just too slow to keep up with #1 WRs?  I don't think the slow safeties are helping much either.

Agree on All and the RBs.

CTB was really, really bad. If it were me, I'd stick Turner in there. He's had stick coverage when he's been in there. CTB was getting beat badly all day, and part of it was when he was lined up at the LOS and WRs were easily getting past him with their releases. It was embarrassing.

And yeah, safeties have looked pretty bad... not enough speed in coverage. Not that Jordan Battle will help in that regard, but he's got a knack for making plays. I remember when Vonn Bell came here initially and he was bad early, and then he got better. Hope that's the case for both starters... but so far, no bueno.

^ What's ironic is I think our LBs are basically the same speed as our safeties ... So really the team has 4 LBs on the field, just two of them deep and 2 shallow. Then really fast corners who are left on islands with slow S who can't cover any ground.

CTB is being asked to play the run on the edge and also run with a WR deep 50 yards on go routes. It's impossible.

Agree .

Was taking a deeper look into Geno Stones rating last year.

His pass coverage was an 83

( 7 ints) but his rating on run defense was a 34.

He takes bad angles to tackle ball carriers..

I've admired the moxy of Vonn Bell

but his coverage skills are poor.

Why they haven't inserted Battle into the starting lineup is baffling to me as he can do both of these traits at a high rate.

His game excells in proper angles.

CBT looks slow in coverage and is hurting the team by this.

DJ Turner may be our best cover guy .

Every CB has to do that to some extent.  Old scouting reports say he cheats too much looking into the backfield and gets burned.  Adds up.  He's a mess right now.

Stone took a horrible angle on a run later in the game.  Gave up a huge gain.

Bell just can't move anymore.  There was a play after a completed pass where Bell got all turned around.  A lot of it was a lack of athleticism.  His movement was borderline when he was here before, but he made up for it with aggressiveness and smarts.  Don't think those two things are enough anymore.  They have to have him training one of the young guys up.  I don't know if it's Tycen Anderson or Battle, but one of them has to step up at some point.

Do you have a logical reason why a young kid with an 82.5 rating last year and full of promise is still riding the bench cause I sure as hell don't.

Because he doesn't know what he's doing?

I take those ratings with a big old handful of salt because those PFF guys watching games don't necessarily know what each guy is supposed to be doing on every play.

There were several articles about how the safeties last season were so bad at communicating and getting guys set up in the right positions.  Led to many big plays.  Bell knows what to do, it's just that  his body isn't capable of doing it well any more.  Bell needs to be passing along his knowledge to one of those guys.  Hopefully one of them is smart enough to get it.

you sound ridiculous, you have absolutely zero knowledge of NFL schemes and gameplans, you dont know what you ware watching other than you dont like it, and when you have bad and hurt players you tend to play badly..

thats what happens in sports, when players are hurt or young or new, they dont play great, and that leads to teams not winning a lot, its not as fun, but 31 teams dont win the SB each year, hell some have never even been there.  this team is really like 3-4 higher level contributions away from being incredible. and those 3-4 guys may be on the roster already. itll be ok.

Seeing what this offense has done last week and today only makes that ridiculous Week 1 loss to New England all the more maddening.

I hope Hilton's knee is okay, and that Hendrickson only suffered a stinger. I guess we'll find out soon enough. Either way, we may be in for a very long day next week vs the Woodpeckers. Offense may need to score 35+ to keep us in it.

maybe 40+ really hoping to get everyone healthy sooner than later, the backup reps and slower play from hurt vets is brutal, i think our roster contains ab middle of the pack defense, in its current state its a bottom 5 defense.

I was wondering how in the heck did that happen. I truly don’t understand PFF rankings.

they only deduct points for failed plays, they dont account for needing a double team or needing a RB to line up WITH HIM on the line to help block.

I would definitely figure a big part of Cappa's numbers skyrocketing have something to do with having a competent RT beside him....

I like the combo but yes Brown is churning out the yrds

well Moss has to play LG as well as RB so comparison is tough, but the combo is key in my opinion, raw skill and veteran savvy. great combo there.

I don't think the slow safeties are helping much either.

agree on all 100% truly a fun young player to watch, earning every second he has out there. Geisecki is oft for sure, but a talent, and in certain packages, he is a weapon, he is worth about what he gets paid. i could see a bad team overpaying him if he gets some success later in the year.

It's impossible.

wut.

Every CB has to do that to some extent.  Old scouting reports say he cheats too much looking into the backfield and gets burned.  Adds up.  He's a mess right now.

he has a terrible game, seems like he was hurt honestly and trying to overcome it with risks, but was getting fooled off the line, which is very rare for him. and catchup speed wasnt therre, really feels like an injury... very HUbbard like performance speed/athelticism wise, just missing something, then made it worse with other mistakes.

I don't know if it's Tycen Anderson or Battle, but one of them has to step up at some point.

these all seems dramatic. i think its more likelt that we had 5 new strters then mix in a few more random injuries this year and with how the seasons has gone and the rotation of players, they havent been able to all get on the same page. without being in the film room its tough to say if they looked out of place or slow because they WERE or because someone else fucked up or read the play wrong and they had to try to make up for it.. il lgive them a few more weeks without getting too harsh on them.

Do you have a logical reason why a young kid with an 82.5 rating last year and full of promise is still riding the bench cause I sure as hell don't.

as others mentioned i think its communication and scheme understanding, we dont know cause we dont know the roles of everyone, but i doubt if it was ability alone, theyd not let the kid get reps, so i think its a mish mosh of unfortunate events on defense leading to everything being out of wack.

Because he doesn't know what he's doing?

I take those ratings with a big old handful of salt because those PFF guys watching games don't necessarily know what each guy is supposed to be doing on every play.

yea defenders is tough, id say they are 80% right for those DB's, but with the system in place, if battle didnt get toasted but maybe his mental error made someone ELSE get toasted, pff wouldnt know, but coaches would, and on the bench he goes.

Doesn't know what he's doing,?

Care to tell me who does back there?

probably the veterans. the ones who have been successful for years doing that. gotta thing others mistakes and issues are making their lives a bit tought this season so far, not to mention the rotating DL and injuries everywhere.

how was that stadium? seems incredible, i want to go sometime.

It was pretty impressive dude, they have a really good operation there too. Easy to get in, easy to get out. We literally took a shuttle from Green Valley Ranch right to the stadium for 4 bucks a piece round trip. It was actually my first NFL game indoors which was pretty cool, gets loud in there. Biggest problem they have is it was only like 60% Raiders fans. There was so much barking going on from the Browns fans.
