Heading into week 5 Jackson and Murphy can come back, Ivey can come off the PUP and it looks like BJ Hill might be available.

We have 1 roster spot available from the Trent Brown IR situation.

Irwin and Hudson seem like afterthoughts at the moment.

Any thoughts on how things workout?

Elevate Cochran off the PS to replace T.Brown and get us back up to 9 OLineman and fill out the 53-man roster.

Activate McKinnley Jackson and release Guy (unless they liked him better than Carter or Tufele), DT for DT.

Activate Miles Murphy and release Hudson (then give McLachlan a crash course in long snapping*)

Activate D.J. Ivey and release Irwin with the team's thanks and some nice parting gifts.

Release Robbins and give him a bus ticket to Fort Hancock, TX.

* If anyone on the team can juggle cats, have them deputize behind Adomitis. As the ancient proverb goes, if you can juggle cats, you can long-snap a football.

Good stuff

Carter has to go somewhere.

PS  maybe..

Back home maybe

.

Looking forward to Murphy ( still think he can provide pass rush) and Jackson back..

Hoping Jackson can provide a spark alongside Jenkins..

No way we go into the next game with both Rekhow and Robbins on the roster. There's gotta be something else coming. Like trading Robbins for a 7th-round pick, or for a hot dog vendor & a fruit basket to be picked out later.

Right? I mean......nah, there's no way....

They have to activate him under IR rules or give him an injury settlement.  Hopefully this is just a necessary precursor to the obvious move.

Putting him on PS would likely see a team with punting needs would "scrap," him up

Like you said, trading for a 7th rounder would seem more logical.but doubtful..

Interesting to see how this all turns out.

Thx, that makes sense and would explain this.

Only question is...how long does he need to be reactivated for in order for the team to be able to release him w/o any strings attached?

As long as it takes to stuff a couple of game-worn 9 or 1 jerseys in his gym bag without anyone noticing?  :ninja:

No idea honestly but given the other potential moves they may let him hang around until they're ready to activate the other guys.

I think they are now free to waive Robbins without any further consequences. The remainder of his modest 6th round signing bonus would be dead money and that would be that. They could then sign him to the PS if he clears waivers.

If anyone can herd cats, maybe they can get our defensive backfield alined correctly.

People keep forgetting Jax Kirkland who is another giant O lineman and did not look too terrible in the preseason.

Would rather see him in the jumbo package at least rather than Cody Ford.

So I guess for at least a few hours more, with Rekhow and Robbins both on the roster, we've got the "Thunderbolt & Lightfoot" of punters.

If you haven't seen the 2 part Apple+ documentary on him it's worth watching.

:offtopic:

Agree.  But I liked Part One a lot better than Part Two.

Check out Steve Martin on The Dating Game on Youtube.

Actually after the doc, I have been watching a lot of Steve stuff on

Youtube.  The Wild and Crazy Guys swingers are hysterical.

I just realized a ton of other teams will also be returning guys off PUP etc. so we could see some interesting names in the pool.

didnt think about that, its a tough call, with our DT problem being a very temporary one, with 2 obvious starters and a few young guys in behind them, only Guy would be a real casualty of a roster spot..

im all for ditching him but seems like he may not make it once everyone is healthy anyway.. we shall see
