was laying on the field unconscious ?

What a horrible display of sportsmanship that was . . .
Article about it with a pic . . .
Go to NFL.com and look at the game highlight video.....Ted Ginn was trying to make something
out of nothing on a botched reverse. While Johnson was in pursuit of Ginn, Green went low
and cut his kness from under him which sent Johnson head over heels.

Johnson's knee smashed into Greens' head on the play.

I dont think Green was intentionally trying to hurt Johnson, but at the same time,
I can see why Johnson wa pissed because Green could have easily broke Johnson's
leg or torn his (Johnson's) ACL with a block like that.
good point. that was a nasty looking block and hit.

Oh I saw the whole play on Sunday Night Football. Keith Olberman
called him the "Worst Person in the NFL" at halftime.

I agree that he had a reason to be pissed. But the dude was knocked
the fuck out ! I mean like Debo knocked him the fuck out !
And even after watching Trent lay there for almost 10 minutes,
be carted off the field and everything. He still was running his
mouth in the locker room afterwards and saying a bunch of stupid shit.

That is pretty much where I'm at. The Steelers were short like 8 starters I think I heard them say - including both starting WR and win.

We use that crap as an excuse for losing...

We're selfish. We're immature. We don't know how to handle success. Blah, blah, blah - I get sooooooooo tired of hearing the same shit for the last 2 1/2 years.

I don't quite get this argument. Trent dove at him like a muppet and paid the price. It doesn't matter if they all got up just fine, or if Trent was stuck doing a Joe Swanson impression for the rest of his life, it was a stupid freaking play and the guy had a right to be pissed. Just because Green got knocked out doesn't mean Johnson no longer has the right to be fucked off. Karma already paid Trent a big visit, but if it was my knees on the line I'd still be jawing at the mofo in the back of the ambulance.

If Kimo had got knocked out on "that" play, would be all have been all quiet and respectful or would we still be tearing him a new one?

Banning people is lame regardless of their opinion. If you didnt want to hear
other's opinion about the Bengals, even if they differ from yours, why even
start a forum? Anyways back to the topic. They were without 2 stud starters
on their defense and still manhandled the Seahawks.

Sad thing is we dont even had 2 studs on our defense, even when they are 100%
healthy.

Why is it that so many of you can't understand this simple fucking concept?

There is a HUGE FUCKING DIFFERENCE between being down a handful of starters across your roster, and being down AN ENTIRE POSITION GROUP.

Show me any team that does not have a single starter or reserve at a given position who has been on the team for more than 2 weeks, and I'll show you a team that is struggling mightily. Say a team-

-starting its practice squad QB
-or missing their top 7 O-lineman
-or entire starting secondary, and all of the reserves who were in camp

etc, etc... This is not rocket science guys. The LBs are the heart and soul of the D by design. When you don't have a single healthy guy on the team who knows the system, guess what? The D is going to be struggling like crazy :contract:

I'm not any fucking happier about this than the rest of you. But for anyone to pretend that a team with a different owner/GM/coach/medical staff/etc could handle the situation we are in right now is total and complete bullshit.

If you want to cry about the team being 1-3, go right ahead, and let the tears flow. It's a lot more understandable than talking complete bullshit.

What if Trent Green had been paralyzed ?
While Travis Johnson stood over, he could have been,
no one knew at the time.

And Travis Johnson wasn`t hurt. He was pissed because he could
have been hurt. So this episode has nothing to do with "that" play.

His coach said it was inexcusable and wrong . . . and later
he finally admitted it too . . .
Angry reaction
Johnson sprang to his feet and shouted at the unconscious Green, who was inactive for six games last season while with the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a severe concussion in the opener. Johnson was penalized for taunting, and the Dolphins converted the field position into their lone touchdown.

"My knee ain't never hurt like it hurt today," Johnson said. "The bottom line is football is not about that. If you want to hit me, hit me in my head, hit me in my chest; don't hit me in my knee.

"I'm trying to eat just like everybody else. So to hit me like that, that showed me what type of man he was."

The image of an enraged Johnson standing over Green elicited several scathing remarks from the Dolphins as well as a stern rebuke from Texans coach Gary Kubiak.

"The whole attitude of the situation — the guy lying on the ground and (Johnson) standing over (Green) — that's just classless," Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown said. "This game is meant to be played tough, but in a situation where a guy is hurt like that, a leader of our offense, it's got to make you mad."

Said Kubiak: "First off, what (Johnson) did is unacceptable, inexcusable. I'm not sitting here making any excuses for him. That's inexcusable. He felt like he got chopped pretty good, which we have to go back and look at the film. He was frustrated. Players worry about their legs when they get cut in certain situations. (But) his reaction was wrong."

Display of contrition
Given additional time to calm down, Johnson — at the urging of Texans officials — readdressed the incident and his reaction. Roughly 20 minutes after his initial tirade, Johnson showed contrition for his behavior and remorse for the fallout from his actions.

"I apologize for going off like that," Johnson said. "As a D-lineman, when you have people going at your knees, it's tough on you mentally. But at the same time, I shouldn't have reacted like that. I'm sorry the penalty ended up leading to a score.

''I ended up hurting my team," Johnson said. ''I shouldn't have let my anger get to me. I apologized to coach Kub because I hurt my team. I should have kept my cool. But being in that situation, this is a game of controlled violence. Really, I let my anger get the best of me."
You hit the nail squarely on the head. Injuries are part of this game, every team has them, but only losers blame losses on their injuries. Tomlin challenged his other players to step up, and they put together a gameplan that was smashmouth on both sides of the ball. I watched little Tyrone Carter filling in for Polamalu at SS, and he played like he was 290 pounds instead of 180. I watched Hoke try to fill in for Casey Hampton, and he behaved like a windmill going at full speed on the line. And everybody truly swarmed to the ball. They held Alexander to 25 yards without Hampton and Polamalu on the line and stopped his 68 game streak as well.

Hate the Stealers, but that is how good teams step-up and play on the field. Bad teams and bad players blame losses on injuries. If, woulda, coulda, shoulda is the stuff bad teams are made of. It's a key part of the mental side of this game, and our mental side sucks, because Marvin is a milktoast coach, and as a team, we do not play hard-nosed football.

We need a new, fire-breathing coach who will bring and instill a new mentality here. And we need a new FO that knows how to locate and draft talented players who have good character.

Lets conviently leave out the fact that they were not missing either running back, let alone down to their #3 guy, after losing their #2 in the preseason, and their often injured #1 draft pick from a few years ago. And were able to put up 100+ yards between the two of them. Lets conviently leave out the fact that their 1st round TE had a decent game giving Ben an option when their 1st two WRs were out. Lets conviently leave out the fact that they were not missing ANY linebackers, let alone their starters and ALL BUT TWO backups, with 1 of them only playing 11 days. Lets conviently leave out the fact that they were not missing an entire unit of starters and most of their backups.

There is a huge difference between missing a few key guys, like we see with them, and AN ENTIRE FREAKING POSITION.

Milktoast is an easily digestable flimsy sack of nothingness. My initial thing is he meant Marvin is bland/pussy/soft etc.

Jesus no wonder America has so much racial tension when everybody instantly assumes that any reference to anything that happens to be white, brown or black in colour must be a racial slur.

Milktoast is a derogatory term used against a white person, one with possibly very white skin
