Pollack Return Does Not Feel Right

Recommended Posts

As much as I feel bad for Pollack, I think we have enough players afraid to hit someone on our defense without him coming back as a situational pass-rushing DE that won't play teams, but makes 1st round draft pick money.

Seems to me like its time to move on..

$860, 000 salary for a situational pass rusher is too expensive? do you work for mike brown (j/k)? that's one of the best bargains in the whole damned league...especially if he flashes any of the brilliance that he did prior to the injury. and who's to say he'll only play as a situational pass rusher anyway?
well, i'll be damned. i've thought for years you were a high school teacher...and that goes back to the old days at nfl fans... coy, madcat, BB, gary, tigger, danny, lawshark. i wonder where i got that?

where did those guys go when that board closed down? i know some of them have migrated here.
All of the above except the late Mad Cat (we all took that really hard, died very suddenly and unexpectedly about this
time last year) are at the board Backer provided the link to.
Some of us, like me as of recently, double dip. SIS (one of my absolute favorite people in the world, on the boards and irl)
is over there sometimes. Globetrotter here is guru or goo over there. Coy is now C Hamet Bengali. Danny is Mofo and I think
shows up here, too.

What was your screen name back then?

And drop by and say "howdy do". You'll be most welcome.
Goes for anyone else, too.
Lots more people here and the board moves really fast, sometimes causing double posts and/or missing
something but I like it here, too.
Over there you do not have to register and all kinds of strange and famous people show up from time to time.
Not uncommon for Marge *cough* Schott to post from beyond the veil or even Mike Brown.
Sometimes even Geoffy Hobson does more than
stop by to plagiarize (remember how we were often "freely quoted" when he worked for the Enquirer?).

J@w is having a real rough time of it now.
I think he's over here once in awhile, too.
He is really a good guy, too.

Dix, as always, is the mater bater.
His act is old.

I checked out for a couple months over there
and that's partially how I ended up here.
I really can't stand the childish flame crap.
Have actually seen a couple boards go down over that most recently over
on bengals.com. There used to be a board for "comments" under all of Hobson's
articles and it got nasty with Stealer fans. The Bengals just pulled it.
Was there and completely gone an hour later. Really too bad because there were some
good Bengal fans and posters who had a pretty good opinions and
perspective on a lot stuff going on with the team.
A number of them were jumping Hobson for his froo froo fluff crap and I don't think that
went over too well, either.

We can wager avatars choices for one month, or sigs.

Any takers? just need one.
God, I might take that bet. Chances are I'll win, and Jesus Christ, who wants a Grateful Dead "Steal Your Face" in 2008?

That's entirely possible if his return happens. Although I have to say that I don't think a player, no matter how holy, awesome, gifted, returning-from-injury or whatever should EVER be able to dictate a position to a team and it's coaches. That's not their decision, no matter the circumstances. I think that is what is irking me, and I don't think I'm alone here.

Play or don't play David, you're supported either way, but you kinda entered into an agreement with a pro team that kinda sorta owns you. I don't believe being a genuine good guy or an athletic freak or being an injured player attempting a comeback should make them think they are in a position to dictate terms, or in this case, their position on the field.

'eh, I'd take that bet if I ever had sigs or avatars activated. Its not worth it if I won't see the silly concoction everyone (its no fun to create it alone) comes up for you.

Don't fret 1181, I've surfaced for not only you, but the entire sane population of this board...Onward!

you're entitled to that position...not that i agree with it. i'm hoping the day will come when it's a moot point, forgotten, and not much of a consideration. if anybody deserves a break, it's this young man. then again, that's just my opinion, for what it's worth. but ultimately, this decision is between him and his coach...and his owner, of course.

Lest I forget that I am a homer, I will also add that if Pollack comes back and is a successful DE, then I reserve the right to say I told you so.

I get to say, "I told you so, too!" David will be back. David will enhance the defense. And Odell (not O'Dell) will be back helping out, too.

it would be nice to get them both back.. but that seems unlikely...

just a few more weeks will tell a LOT about the upcoming season...

depends on when he got rescheduled for. As someone said, specialists have solid bookings.

I have no doubt however that the Bengals will have an answer before free agency starts in 17 days.
