I don't know what he was thinking jumping into the back of that truck while fighting with his woman. Damn, this sucks for him, her, his kids and family, the team, us and everyone in between.

Completely agree. This is tragic news and could just be another case of him unable to exhibit a normal level of restraint.

Regardless I hope he gets better and we can move on.

http://twitter.com/biodome10 this guy is a dick. It has actually caused the reporter his is impersonating to create a twitter account about 20 minutes ago http://twitter.com/DMNGerryFraley

That guy needs to be punished. The WWW is a great tool, but with the advent of blogs, twitters, anonymous accounts, etc, it seems anybody can do whatever the hell they want. Pisses me off.

Can you imagine being one of Henry's relatives or close friends and see that shit on the web before you had a chance to get a hold of someone. Unforgivable and unacceptable.

""We obviously are aware he was in an accident and his injuries are very serious," Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said. "That's all we have at this point. A report quoting me saying he had died is completely false."

That "report" came in the form of an apparently fake Twitter account purporting to be that of a I reporter around 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday. As of that time, FanHouse has confirmed, Henry was in fact still alive, though in very serious condition."

This shit probably happened when Roethlisburger had his injury too.

Really? Really? Not the time nor the place. Ben reference was bizarre and weird. The comment on Henry's actions is very premature if not worse.

We clearly don't have all the facts, and even if accurate, are you saying you've never done anything in the heat of the moment that you later regretted?

Chiming in with my $.02 and disappearing again...

Prayers go out to Chris and his family and friends. You hate to hear about it ever, but especially to someone that seemed to be working as hard as he was to make his life more positive. No, I don't image any Cincinnati Bengal is able to think clearly about football when a teammate and friend is in a tough spot. The sad thing is that it takes an accident to put life into perspective. Love the ones you've got, y'all.

And to the tasteless clowns that hype and create false rumors for the twitter clicks... Karma's a bitch... One day they'll get the other end of strap on..

Yeah, because jumping out of a moving vehicle is much much better than being thrown from a moving vehicle. Go back to your message board.

um yea? it is actually. You can protect your head and somewhat control the way you land. Rather than swerving potentially being knocked head under heels and landing on your head unprotected. You were just trying to talk smack and this isn't the place or time bro. Grow up.

Homicide detectives have been called to the scene of a North Carolina crash Wednesday evening that left Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry with "very serious" injuries.

Henry was listed in serious condition in a Charlotte-area hospital following a crash there, team spokesman Jack Brennan confirmed.

Police said Henry and his fiancée, Loleini Tonga, who lives in the area, had been arguing in the 800 block of Peachtree Road when Tonga tried to drive away in a pickup.

Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup and the couple continued arguing as Tonga drove, police said.

Police said Henry fell out of the pickup at some point and landed in the roadway, causing life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed, police said.

Henry had been placed on injured reserve since Nov. 9 with a dislocated forearm, ending his season.

The fifth-year player was cut from the Bengals in March 2008 after a string of arrests and other legal trouble, but the team re-signed him in August 2008.

The former third-round pick from West Virginia has caught 119 passes, including 21 touchdowns, for 1,826 yards during his career.

Henry has not been in any legal trouble since returning to the Bengals before the 2008 season.

Fan Response

The response from fans Wednesday evening was one of concern as word began to spread about Henry's condition.

Henry's name quickly became the top trending phrase on Twitter as people reported incorrectly that Henry had died.

And on Henry's Facebook fan page, people left messages wishing him well and praying for a quick recovery.

If he's on life support that means his body can not sustain life without help correct? Has anyone ever known anyone who successfully came off life support?
No, it doesn't mean that. Getting extra oxygen can be considered life support.

I knew a guy that was in a serious accident and was on life support for a couple of weeks and made it through. Let's hope the same is true with Chris.
