Possible Trade Partner?

Recommended Posts

Talk out of Houston is the Texans want to trade up for either Von Miller or Patrick Peterson.

Seems like 4 would be the ideal spot to get Miller if he was there, a little less likely if hes gone that they would have to move up that far to get Peterson.

Would love to make this move but I doubt it happens

Miller won't last to 4 but if they want Peterson that trade might happen. Not sure I want to move down that far though.

I like the idea b/c a move down 7 spots would probably get them a 3 and a 4. They might then have the chance to take Fairley, could take Pouncey, Prince, Liuget, or one of the D ends. Then if they wanted to they could use a combo of picks to move back into the 1st and get a player they really want, maybe a QB, maybe another position.

I get the sense Zona wants Miller and Peterson also so maybe we are the jumping off point for a trade, seems Houston would for sure have to get in front of SF to have a shot at Peterson

Hell I dont know, its called speculation, what else do we have to talk about right now?
lol hey Im not knocking your logic...id be all for it but it seems MB just picks when his team comes up..
Hell I think Old John Cooper sits at home watches college games and call Mikey and says "hey that boy andre Smith from Bama looks like a stud Mike" and MB chooses him...
Your smarter than Brown when it comes to logic....Mike is smarter at turning a buck and Cam would sell a shit load of Bengal jerseys...not ( praying ) saying they'll take him but Mike will definatelly look at that real hard .

I think when its all said and done AG Green will be a bengal and thats a good pick for them.

my trade want (if a CBA is done obviously):

Trade Carson to the Cardinals for the #5 pick. Cards also get our 3rd round pick (that sucks, but it'd be accurate).

Take Green, Fairley or Peterson at #4.

Trade down from the #5 pick, getting back a 2nd rounder that you just lost. Houston or Washington are interested in trading up. You can probably get another pick as well based on value.

At #10-11 take the BPA, or try and trade down again to position for a QB.

If you don't get your QB with the extra first round pick, you have 2 second rounders as ammo to trade up to the end of the first round. Or you can stay pat and have 4 picks in the first two rounds.

The cards wouldnt trade their 5th pick. The best we can hope for is seattle trading their pick

Texans want to trade up for Von Miller or Patrick Peterson

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle conducted a live chat with fans Monday, and at multiple points in the Q&A insisted that the Texans want to trade up in the draft.

Per McClain, their targets are Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller and LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson.

"The Texans could offer their 1, 3, 4, and (Amobi) Okoye," suggests McClain regarding a potential trade up with the Broncos. Denver holds the No. 2 overall pick, which is where the Texans would almost certainly have to get to draft Miller.

According to McClain, a trade up for Peterson is more likely:

"If they trade up to get Peterson, they might not have to offer so much if he drops to Arizona at 5 or San Francisco at 7. … They want Miller first, and if they can't trade up to get him, they'll try to trade to get Peterson if he falls."

Throughout the chat, McClain makes other statements such as "They will try to move up to get those players," "They'll try," and "I know they will try (to trade up)."

Unfortunately, a trade up to No. 2 isn't realistic for the Texans. Per the NFL trade value chart, they'd have to give up their entire 2011 draft plus Okoye — when trading veteran players may not even be allowed — to execute a deal with Denver.

In the end, McClain gives the Texans just a 20 percent chance of moving up for Miller or Peterson.

McClain predicts that Missouri defensive end Aldon Smith will end up in Houston.

Jesus we're going to be sitting so fucking pretty at #4 if vonmiller, peterson and gabbert are all there.

My fucking god if we don't trade back I'm going to lose it.

At least 1 of those 3 should be gone, along with Newton and Dareus in the top 3 picks.

if Miller or Peterson are still on the board then they'll be wearing stripes next season

Those both sound like as close to a sure bet as you can get in the draft, and we'd be stupid to pass on that kind of talent

then again, if we were able to trade down and still snag someone like Fairley I'd be all for it but i just dont think the bengals are in a position to be rolling the dice, i dont think we can afford to screw this draft up

I would do that in a New York second.

Amobi Okoye wouldnt even make the Bengals. He is a total bust (as I predicted prior to the 2007 draft). He isnt better than Peko, Tank, Sims or Atkins.

I'd take him over tank. Keep in mind that, for experienced as he is, Okoye is still just 24 and just NOW entering his prime.

If you think that Okoye is 24 years old I have some swamp land I'd like to sell you in New Jersey.

What do Danny Almonte, Freddy Adu and Amobi Okoye all have in common? I can think of 3 things:

-They were all over-hype on the sole basis that they were playing at a high level at a very young age and it was assumed that they would get much better.
-They were all born in countries that are famous for their uinreliable, or non-existent birth certificates.
-And none of them got any better as they got older.

If the Texans think that Okoye is now entering his prime why are they trying to trade him? The word out of Houston is that they will cut him if they can't trade him.

The closer we get to teams going on the clock, the more the trade rumors start to pick up.

With Marvin Lewis saying that the Bengals were not locked into the fourth spot, two possible options for a trading partner could be the Texans and Falcons.

Houston owns the 11th pick and has its sights set on either Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller or LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson. According to the trade value chart that teams use, the fourth pick is worth 1,800 points. If the Bengals got Houston's first and second this year (combined 1,720 points) along with a fourth this year or next, it would be in their best interest to make the deal. The Bengals wouldn't drop that far down in the first round and could take a defensive lineman like Auburn's Nick Fairley or Clemson's Da'Quan Bowers or hope that Alabama receiver Julio Jones is still there. Or there is always that slim chance that Missouri's Blaine Gabbert could still be around.
