DE Kendall Langford has a visit set up with [s]#[/s]Bengals tomorrow, and might set one up with [s]#[/s]Patriots. [s]#[/s]Dolphins and [s]#[/s]Falcons also interested

Very intrigued by Langford, been reading on him and he sounds like a powerhouse DT in the 4-3, phins beat writer Omar Kelly has been glowing about him, he's ranked 34th on PFT free agent list and I think 65 on cbssports list. Seems like a similar player to Frostee who can play both spots, maybe better against the run than rucker but not as good as a rusher
I still have nightmares of Frostee letting Shonn Greene run right by him in that 2010 playoff game for a 42yd td. As much as I like the guy, I do enjoy the fact we're looking for an upgrade.

I also would be surprised if frostee left, he has a lot of ties to this city. I believe he will be a majority owner of the Orange leaf opening up on the banks, maybe that is just chump change to him though if he can get a much bigger contract elsewhere.

Per the folks at Pro Football Focus, Langford didn't grade well as a run stopper but grades well on pass. No sacks but 25 QB pressures

In getting a second opinion, per [s]@[/s]OmarKelly on Langford: A stud run stuffer, led D-line in pressures. Also has him as a DT in a 4-3

Sounds like a backup plan if we lose Fanane

So far, Langford would appear to be the pick of the litter as far as the Bengals reported interests go. Wouldn't mind them signing Davis, but only if it is a fairly minor deal. Still want to see some smoke from Grubbs, Bush or Tolbert and a WR or two. I like Robinson and Manningham with Earl Bennett as a sleeper. If Anthony Collins doesn't return, Robert Schwartz would be nice. Again though, not for enormous bucks.

Langford was ESPN's #19 top Free Agent. But they said he was a "true 3-4 End"
and the Phins were switching to a 4-3, so he wasn't a good fit anymore ....

19. DE Kendall Langford: A true 3-4 defensive end, Langford will have much more value to teams that run such a scheme than many might realize. Miami is moving to a 4-3, so like Soliai, Langford could end up on a defense that better fits his skills.

yea but that's the kind of versatility the bengals like. Fanene and rucker would be better in 3-4's too IMO, but have found success here being versatile guys.

watching highlights of BJGE now for the first time. more power than I thought. would still want another back in the draft, but they could do worse than BJGE. He's reliable, experienced, and you know he's been well-coached.

Law firm is so inconsistent he gives me a headache in fantasy but that also has to do with the teams use of him. It stinks of going to the backup plan before the original plan has been exhausted but as 1181 says we could do worse then a 27 year old back with out much treadwear

may also be the system. The pats were the worst rushing offense in the league last year. How much of that was BJGE? I honestly can't say.

Its also interesting that they drafted 2 rbs last year when they had him. After a 1000 yard 13 td season too. My guess is that he is similar to Benson.

true, but they also barely played those guys (102 combined carries), choosing to use BJGE instead.

Maybe we can give the pats a 3rd rounder for vereen.
