MichaelWeston
Not too many ties to different DC's but here are some available guys. I would like a veteran coach with DC experience. I would love someone who has been a HC https://www.profootballrumors.com/2019/01/2019-offensive-defensive-coordinator-tracker 1. Greg Schiano-DC experience at OSU and Miami. Head coaching experience in Rutgers and Tampa Bay https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Schiano 2. Steve Spagnuolo-DC for the Saints and Giants. Head coach for the Rams. Out of football last year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Spagnuolo 3. Steve Wilks-DC for the Panthers, Head coach of the Cardinals. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Wilks 4. Joe Barry-DC for the Lions and Redskins. Current LBs coach and AHC for the Rams. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Barry. 5. Jack Del Rio-DC for the Panthers and Broncos. Head coach for the Raiders and Jaguars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Del_Rio 6. Mike Nolan-DC for the Falcons, Broncos, Ravens, Jets, Redskins, Giants. HC for the 49ers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Nolan He might run a 3-4. 7. Marquad Manuel-DB for the bengals and DC for the Falcons last year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquand_Manuel 8. Richard Smith-LB coach for the Chargers, was DC for the Falcons, Texans and Dolphins. Coached with Sherman in 2007 at Texans. I seem to remember him being terrible for some reason. This might be the guy though. 9. Ed Donatell-Db coach for the Bears, He is rumored to be Fangio's coach in Denver. Been DC for Packers, Washington (U) and Falcons. Fangio wants to call plays so if Donatell would like that he would make sense. But Bears run a 3-4. 10. Kris Richard-Dream hire. He isn't the DC in Dallas technically. Rod Marinelli is. Marinelli has said that he wants to make sure Richard stays in Dallas and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
MichaelWeston
Joe Barry appears to be a terrible candidate. Lions 2007 32nd in ypg, 32nd in scoring 2008 32nd in ypg, 32nd in scoring Redskins 2015 28th in ypg, 16th in scoring 2016 28th in ypg, 19th in scoring
HOF dan
some interesting names in that bunch. I didn't see Greg Williams - former Brown's DC / HC on that list. Is he still available? Like it or not, he put some teeth in their defense.

MichaelWeston
Rod Marinelli is an interesting option. I think he's a great coach, he is currently the Cowboys DC. He has said he will do whatever he has to keep Richard there. Richard isn't getting the Dolphins job and isn't a DC. Marinelli coached with Bill Callahan in 2014 in Dallas. Shebengal
Pass on Greg Schiano. OSU’s defense was HORRIBLE this past year.
MichaelWeston
I get the feeling it might be Richard Smith. I don't know a thing about him though.
Jamie_B
On that list I'd want Del Rio, but I'm not sure he has any connections with anyone on Taylor's list.
bigboi
if Steve Spagnuolo is available you take him because he can 3-4 and 4-3 defense.

|Numbers|
Dennis Allen ? He is being interviewed for a head coaching position but may be enticed with the right offer. "His defense ranks second in the league against the run (80.2 yards per game) and tied for fifth in the league in sacks."

The "right offer" could be an additional title to defensive coordinator such as assistant Head Coach or something creative. Allen has been a Head Coach before but not successful. To get a high value coach in a priority position is going to make a team in need to make a stretch. Should we be left waiting a millennium to assemble a staff, there will be short cuts and or stretches being made. IMHO. Slight overlap in 1996 for Allen as a graduate assistant and Mike Sherman at Texas A&M. As a player at Texas A&M, Allen was a Safety from I believe 1993-1996. Mike Sherman overlaps there in all but one year, 1994.

Jamie_B
Cincinnati.com has done a list, thing that is concerning to me is their list doesn't have anyone actually connected to Taylor on the defensive side of the ball. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/nfl/bengals/2019/01/16/tracking-cincinnati-bengals-offensive-defensive-coordinator-hires/2591506002/
Jamie_B
Although to be fair at least to my knowledge when we hired Zimmer to be the D coord, Marvin had never worked with him either, correct?

Lots of Packers and Saints connections on these candidates.
