|High School Harry|
Just saw that, too, on Bengals Wire. Wednesday, the NFL announced the Bengals will visit the Chiefs in Week 17 on New Year’s Eve, a 4:25 p.m. ET Thursday kickoff in primetime. 4:25? Griever
Perhaps the number 1 seed will be on the line. Much prefer week 17 over week 1
|High School Harry|
FWIW... Bengals will not play internationally in 2023 Jacksonville will be playing the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee will take on one of the Bengals' divisional rivals, Baltimore, in London while Kansas City will face off against the Miami Dolphinsin Frankfurt.

|BlackJesus|
I think the NFL missed an opportunity to play the Chiefs and Bengals earlier in the year when it may matter more. There is the possibility that one or both teams have their playoff seeding already decided by the time this game takes place and it is relying on a lot of factors for it to fit that perfect scenario that Buffalo vs Cincy did last year. Opening weekend would have been better, as they could have played off the whole Ossai's next snap now against the Chiefs again angle.

membengal
Sometimes I see stuff like this and have to stop and remind myself of where we were as a fanbase and franchise just three years ago and marvel at how far we've come in terms of how the team is viewed now nationally...
Griever
Here are the 2023 strength of schedule rankings for each team (combined 2022 record of all 17 opponents, combined winning percentage). So much changes year over year in the NFL...so take with a grain of salt: RANK OPPONENTS' COMBINED 2022 RECORD OPPONENTS' COMBINED 2022 WIN PERCENTAGE 1 Eagles 161-123-4 .566 2 Dolphins 158-127-2 .554 3 Patriots 156-128-3 .549 T-4 Cowboys 156-128-4 .549 T-4 Giants 157-129-2 .549 6 Jets 155-129-3 .545 7 Bills 155-131-2 .542 8 Commanders 153-133-2 .535 9 Rams 152-133-3 .533 10 Raiders 150-136-2 .524 11 Cardinals 148-147-3 .519 T-12 Chargers 149-139 .517 T-12 Broncos 148-138-2 .517 T-12 Seahawks 148-138-2 .517 15 49ers 147-142-0 .514 16 Chiefs 147-140 .512 17 Bengals 146-140-2 .510 18 Bears 143-145-1 .497 19 Vikings 143-145 .497 20 Lions 143-146 .495 21 Ravens 138-147-2 .484 22 Buccaneers 138-148-2 .483 23 Jaguars 135-148-4 .477 24 Packers 137-151-1 .476 25 Stealers 134-151-2 .470 26 Browns 131-154-2 .460 27 Panthers 130-157-2 .453 28 Titans 127-157-4 .448 29 Colts 124-162-2 .434 30 Texans 123-163-2 .431 31 Saints 122-164-3 .427 32 Falcons 119-167-3 .417

First playoff run to the SB they were just happy to be there.. Last season was a little bit the other way, at times they looked like they expected a do-over. Think they know what to expect now (& that they have to take the refs out of the game). Also unlikely that Goodell gets another chance to take away a 1 or 2 seed. Homefield through the playoffs should be the next step.
membengal
Mostly still just stunning to see the Bengals included in a random discussion like this on a morning news show - and casually included in a "what makes this rivalry so special" discussion without having to see them stop and marvel at the bengals being in that discussion. Like, stuff like this tells me we've arrived. I really never expected to get here, I guess.

|High School Harry|
All this hype for a game that's 7 1/2 months away. I love it! Also give me 7 1/2 months to come up with a way to tell Lady Friend Lorraine that we aren't doing anything New Years Eve. My New Years plans are to come home, build a nice fire in the fireplace and bond with the Bengals. Actually, can't think of a better way to bring in 2024 than with a Big W over the Kansas City Kermits. 2

They say lots of rest and watching television around 4:25p Eastern really helps one feel better with this type of thing. I'm not a doctor, but trust me. https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx5FsInEOA68Nip8K2FQVITSwP4NK-hga6 1
