WEEK 4: @ TITANS (GameDey thread)

Recommended Posts

So it's pretty clear now what the game plan was and how it failed, based on the fact they suddenly started running the kind of plays that might have gotten them out of trouble a lot earlier, but not until the second half.

They came out running way more than usual, and were finding success.  The Titans are one of the best run defense teams so in theory that should have opened up the passing lanes and the deep ball.  As soon as the Bengals decided to start trying the long ball the Titans did the opposite of what you'd expect - they teed off.  They did all out blitzes, stunts, all as if they had a big lead and the Bengals were desperate.  The Bengals had no answer for this and were embarrassed.

Outcoached indeed.

Just now, BlackJesus said:

Really the team just needs to win 1 of the next 3 with a backup QB to get to 2-4 before the bye.

That will give Burrow 5 weeks to heal up.

That would be 2-5, but regardless, I get the feeling the problems with this team go beyond a sore Burrow calf. I don't think it gets fixed in 2023.

He had FIVE weeks to heal during the preseason and was still hurting.  There’s no guarantee that 4 more will help.
