^ I wanted Mims to get the first team reps anyway in camp.

Trent being out of shape (?) could turn into a blessing in disguise

Man I admire your optimism but fail to see how being forced to start the guy who fell to us since he will need time to develop, because the vet signed to mentor him showed up wheezing from the walk across the parking lot, is somehow a Good Thing.

Hopefully The "Big Pancake" comes into camp and contributes and all this is put aside.

And we’re off to the speculation “fat man” races!

No one has any idea as to the reason.

I suppose for myself I'm tired of the Bengals FO hanging their hat on injury prone players then acting all suprised Pikachu when they can't play.

Out of shape, appendicitis, rodeo injury or fleas all I know is the guy who gets hurt all the time showed up to camp unable to participate.

Well they always do their conditioning test the day before camp starts and he was put on NFI the day before training camp started even though he was practicing at mandatory mini camp a month ago.

So it’s not hard to have an idea on what’s going on here. He’s out of shape.

I'm guessing  this isn't his first rodeo being out of shape coming into camp.

He seems like he'll do just enough to get on the field.

What happens after that is anyones guess..

Understood. However, the speculation games as to “why” gain steam the longer they are written.

He’s now gone from “fat” speculation to “failed physical” to “out of shape”. And none of it is based on anything other than someone first speculates (guesses) at it.

Trent will soon go from “valued FA signing to Bobby Hart in no time.

Nope. Speculation could well stop tomorrow when Zac Taylor addresses the media about TBrown as well as the other players currently unable to practice (All/Ivey) as training camp begins.

That was my first thought too. Not the end of the world but still disappointing… but in the scheme of things, no biggie (assuming it’s he didn’t pass the conditioning test).

I wonder if he didn't see Mims in minicamp and decide "fuck it, pass the Cheetos"

At worst it would be nice to have him as a backup that's not a guaranteed disaster.

Unfortunately they don't really have the luxury to cut him if he really is sandbagging it, for the same reason.

He’s a big man. You want no-sacks-allowed, or runway cuties?

... Nobody loves a big man more than me (as everyone knows). But there's a difference between a 'dancing bear' and a 'beached walrus'. I need all that jiggle to wiggle fast enough to be effective.

That's what makes 🐻 Mims so tantalizing. He's 350 lbs, but agile and cut like someone who is 280.

Get that. He is indeed an exciting prospect.

But in a supposed “down year”…Trent was still in the upper echelon of NFL pass blockers. I sort of thought that what had everyone here so geeked when he was signed?

Now we can add that he craves Cheetos and T-Bones, as opposed to broccoli, to the growing list of “he’s now Bobby Hart” accusations.
