UncleEarl
Man...this is not good. The Bengals struggled against the run last year. What is it going to look like with this banged up DL?
|BlackJesus|
Bengals need to shelf their starting DL until week 1. All backups in the pre season. No margin for error now.

He is but I find it annoying that the only time I see anything about him is when he's clowning around. Not that there's anything wrong with that... highly amusing but... Jenkins has been in camp and hasn’t missed practice, IIRC. Kinda hard to gauge interior DL after a few padded practices, although Jackson has been talked up a little. I would expect Sample to get IR’d shortly, especially since they probably need another DL to help through camp - since others are sidelined. Hadn’t heard Jackson’s health status but I hope it was a minor tweak and that he can be back playing soon. He’s got some bulk and their interior DL doesn’t have a lot of ballast, comparatively speaking.
|High School Harry|
Hey High School Harry, To help the team prepare for our first game this Saturday, August 10, the Training Camp practice on Thursday, August 8 will now be in the stadium and closed to the public. The practice on Monday, August 19 at the Kettering Health Practice Fields will now be open to the public instead. Thank you for your understanding and see you out there! membengal
fwiw, I was in person at training camp last Friday - it was the practice after the really hot long one, so not as intense, apparently, but Burrow did throw and, man, he looks...just like he always has. Was spinning the ball with no issues at all. That was the practice where he hit Jones and then Jackson on back-to-back 50+ yard bombs. Other random notes/obs - ---The Mims buzz is legit - man he moves his feet SO well (for anyone, much less a 350 pound person). There was about 10 minutes of live one-v-one rushing/blocking between o-line and d-line and Mims absolutely pops. Even when Trent Brown is ready...I am not certain he's better than what Mims looks like already. Will be interesting to see if they ease Mims in and go with Brown based on vet skills for a bit or if they just hand the key over and live with the initial learning curve... ---Hope he's not badly hurt (the left practice monday thing - see Go's note) but McKinnley Jackson had two very notable reps, one where he got under Cappa and just walked him back and then another where he beat Ford pretty badly with an inside move. He moves faster than I might have guessed based on the draft chatter. ---Iosivias looks so comfortable ---On the rehab field was Burton (this was his one-day thing post ankle tweak) - just LOOKS like a WR - long, lean, and he is ripped in the arms. Also on the rehab field were Hubbard (dragging a sled)(Brown, same)(and a few others). ---They did quite a bit of new kickoff practice, Jones and Evans seemed to be the ones receiving mostly (no live work, really, just jogs into fits as they appeared to be working on blocking) ---Back in Maryland now, still so jealous of those of you who are local. Still so much fun to be at camp. The Ravens fans here at the office in Baltimore cannot believe practice is still open and that anyone can go (for free). We are really lucky bengals have kept to that tradition. When Ravens moved their camp about a decade ago from their version of Georgetown to their own facility, they stopped allowing the public to attend (other than about 100 a day). I delighted in sharing the pics I took and how close we can be to the proceedings. Fun. Hope you all are doing ok, have missed being around, hoping to get back to hanging with you all again on the regular. ETA- per my post in Go's pinned tix thread - I have my two season tix for the Bengals/Bucs game available - looking to give them away for free - anyone here that wants to go? Hit me with a DM and I will coordinate transferring them to you. Peace. Aaron 1

Also on Cappa getting beaten including walked back. I know I am in the minority but I do like Volson better than Cappa... sad about Jackson getting busted up. Waiting for Jenkins to step up.
membengal
It’s always tough reporting on practice stuff / good news for one means bad news for another player… in this case, no worries on Cappa, the happier note (assuming hopefully he isn’t badly hurt) is how good Jackson popped (to my decidedly amateur eyes mind you).

membengal
I haven’t seen a follow up after he left practice Monday, but they didn’t practice yesterday so I am guessing we will hear shortly when ZT talks before (or after) today’s practice…

KA14_HOF
One of my pet peeves that I hope Zac spends time on is change-of-possession awareness, particularly for the defense. In 2021 vs the Jets, poor blocking on Bates' 1st-quarter INT cost us a TD and ultimately the game, and it nearly cost us the "Fumble in the Jungle" when Mark Andrews nearly ran down Hubbard. If there's no one directly in front of you that is a threat to the ball carrier, turn around, find a RB or receiver, and hit him. At least knock him off stride. Do SOMETHING. If you're running with the ball carrier, celebrating or just watching, then you're not helping. And that lack of awareness can prove to be very costly.
