^ *Now I would look at T Brown for LG or RG if one of them struggles or is injured.

Brown is 6-8. No way anyone that tall can get low enough pad level to play guard against compact DTs. At his weight if he had to get down that low, he would never be able to get back up. He would just sink down into the turf like a falling meteor landing on earth.

Awesome stuff. Didn’t think they would shift considering the Mike G signing - but the league is surely about to start shifting back to under center and 12 personnel.

Agree

Im not bit on guards over 6'5 for leverage.

I  think it's hurt Volson and Cappas play somewhat being 6'6.

Been saying this for a while, it's time for Joe to get comfortable under center.

Also the Oline was a lot less shitty when they were playing that way last year too.

This Oline should thrive off under center play action...

Let the Oline tee off instead of on their heals in the shotgun.

Burrow looked pretty comfortable UC against the 49ers last year. It was his best performance of the year, and one of the best of his entire career.

The plan is to become "more multiple" as Dan Pitcher calls it. They want to go UC more against some opponents, but the shotgun certainly isn't going away. Moss was their free agent choice partly because of how well he rushes out of the shotgun, not to mention his skill in pass pro. Burrow is the best QB in the league at processing what every other player on the field is doing, which is a skill best utilized when everyone is spread out wide.

Whether Burrow is UC or working out of the shotgun, the main goal is to avoid 3rd downs as much as possible. That's when so many of Burrow's sacks come. Yes, 3rd down is usually the most frequent sack down for every team, but the 3rd down sack percentage for the Bengals has been higher than the league average. That's why Pitcher's mantra is "1st down...2nd down...1st down."

OBJ has to play better, no doubt. Seems like he’s more motivated this fall… guess we will see, but I’m hopeful. He needs to play better, but from what I’ve read and heard, he’s in better shape this summer.

Re play, everyone on that line needs to be better. No one was better than average last year, and that’s not gonna cut it, particularly when playing in the AFCN and some very stout front 7s. Their depth is pretty lame, too, especially along the interior.

Send Ja'Marr home. No point in him being here.

His presence is a reminder that "I still need my money". I'm glad he's there, as there's no reason this shouldn't have been done already. Him and Burrow are the foundation of everything they're doing.

Chase is not worth Burrow money. He's 3-1 without Chase, he'll be fine. Being a distraction while everyone else is out there working is not a good look.

Again, he's set to earn over $20 million next year on his current contract. That he signed. Cry me a river.
