  1. Personal stance on the Stupid Bowl... I am not watching. Way too much hype and bottom line when I think about it, I don't care for either team. Fuck em' both. And may God Bless each and every friend on here who chooses to watch it. I sincerely hope you enjoy it and all the festivities that go with it. Seriously. I go to and watch Bengals games for the game itself, not the game day experience. This is a game day experience about two teams I don't even like. Fuck 'em. If they ain't the Bengals, they're just shit.

  2. Well, except for the fact that cheerleaders show up for every game...not true for Watson.

  3. ^ btw - as y'all know, I'm a huge St Louis BattleHawks fan, and I loved attending XFL games during the 2020 and 2023 seasons. As soon as things quiet down around here and the Vegas thing slides into the rear view mirror, expect me to start ramping up for the coming UFL season. To quote myself from the Fall of 2022: ".... If you ever get a chance to attend an XFL game I highly recommend it. The players are working their tails off to get noticed by the NFL, the fans are passionate and fun, but the games are laid back because - frankly - it's minor league football. Take in a game if you can. And if you wanna see it done right, go to St Louis. Tickets and concessions and parking are all inexpensive, the games are extremely well-attended by loyal, passionate, and silly fans, and the atmosphere inside the Dome is amazing. Call me, we'll go together. 🙂 Kaw Is The Law! ⚔️🏈"

  11. And yet every NFL team would rather have any of those guys, maybe aside from Flacco for a variety of reasons, over Browning. Yes, even Pickett. I would actually take Flacco over Browning if only needed for 5-6 games or less. Browning is an extremely limited QB with a very low ceiling. Hmm, TDub and Sparky internet GMs of the Year’s opinions or NFL execs opinions. Tough one here… Maybe the Bengals have offers for him, but are holding out for that top 5 pick he’s going to warrant because he’s more efficient than 5 QBs that Sparky listed?

  12. Nobody is giving a draft pick for Jake Browning. Nobody. You can cope as much as you’d like and try to convince yourself he’s a valuable piece to a franchise, but he’s simply a dime a dozen player. And to say other teams will have weapons comparable to Chase and Higgins is just foolish. But par for the course with you. It’s funny how logic escapes the mind when needing to win an argument.

  13. Figure I'd share this random look at our future schedules: Game pairings based on prior end-of-year standings denoted with an * 2024: HOME: BAL CFT PIT DEN LVR PHI WAS *NEP AWAY: BAL CFT PIT KCC LAC DAL NYG *TEN *CAR 2025: HOME: BAL CFT PIT NEP NYJ CHI DET *AFCS-TBD *NFCW-TBD AWAY: BAL CFT PIT BUF MIA GBP MIN *AFCW-TBD .....if we play KCC due to finishing in the same positions in 2024, it'll be at Narrowhead again, but if we pair with TEN then at least - for once - we'll play in Cincy. 2026: HOME: BAL CFT PIT JAX TEN NOS TBB *AFCW-TBD AWAY: BAL CFT PIT HOU IND ATL CAR *AFCE-TBD *NFCE-TBD ....only one game West of Indianapolis, and Houston really isn't "west" IMO. Really nice travel schedule.... but we pay for it in 2027: 2027: HOME: BAL CFT PIT KCC LAC ARI SFF *AFCS-TBD *NFCN-TBD AWAY: BAL CFT PIT DEN LVR LAR SEA *AFCE-TBD ...all but one of our non-division road games are in the Mountain or Pacific time zones, since the 3-year AFC and 4-year NFC rotations give us that once-in-twelve-years double-whammy of playing BOTH western divisions in the same season. Schedules subject to change if the NFL ditches their current scheduling formula, does a realignment, expands, or does anything else fucked-up.

  14. That's a ....take, I guess. Pretty stupid one but go ahead and double down. Playing QB is mostly about decision-making and throwing accuracy. Browning has those. He's not a physical specimen but doesn't need to be. Lots of guys like that have succeeded in the NFL including one playing this weekend. In a league where teams started guys like Heinicke, Zappe, Simien, Beathard, Stidham, Ridder, O'Connell, Dobbs, etc, Browning has value. Maybe we saw his best ever football but even after there was tape of him, he continued to play well. He's 3 years away from UFA status while having been through 5 training camps. He's certainly a better bet than Tommy DeVito or whomever. NFL teams will give up decent compensation for a QB upgrade. Your argument that he can't take Chase and Higgins with him is silly as a new team will have their own receivers and those are easier to find than a solid QB.

  15. It is a 100% certainty that he is getting tagged, Tee and Callahan both know this as well. So, if the Titans want Tee, they are going to have to offer their first Rd pick #7 for him. I don't think Mike Brown (who drives a hard bargain) would take anything less. As for me, I would take that deal and then draft RT Joe Alt with the pick.

  16. Very nice and fitting that Tyler had 513 catches in Cincinnati. Appreciate him and loved him as a Bengal but definitely time to move on and get some quickness and speed in the slot.

  17. There are a thousand Brownings out there. Nobody’s giving any pick for him. He’s average at best, lacks arm talent, lacks size. Taylor Heinecke would have put up better numbers than Browning did if he had JaMarr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon as weapons. By your logic, those teams with less efficient QBs should be on the phone with the Blackburns and Tobins no? Maybe the Bengals are holding out for a 1st because he’s so damn efficient.

  18. I think if Burrow can have a healthy training camp the are going to ask him to get under center more, they had already started and he was doing some of it until he hurt the calve. I think it makes a difference in the what the Oline is capable of. None of the guys on the line are good enough to be left on an island and when you have your QB in shotgun they get asked to do that. When your QB is under center it makes all the difference in the world.

  19. Now we are cooking with gasoline......WR 1-Chase is back and due for an extension 2-Higgins is up for a big contract 3-Boyd is probably gone 4-Irwin is maybe an RFA or UFA.....I can't tell. Spotrac has him as RFA, Over the cap UFA. Regardless he is probably back. Irwin could be off to Tennessee. It wouldn't surprise me if Callahan steals some of our fringe offense guys to help ease his offensive install. 5-Jones and Yoshi are both back after flashing some but not enough to be counted on for much 6-Jackson-Pryor and Lassiter are all interesting and could seize an end-of-the-roster spot with a good camp Each offseason I tend to foreclose on what will happen in an area and not be open to outside thoughts. This year I am digging in at WR. In a deep WR draft class I don't think we should draft one. Despite the absolute success of last year's class. I also am not really looking at outside WR free agents because I think Higgins is back. Here is how I have it. I think they feel burned by Bates and will shoot for a long-term deal with Higgins. I think they love Irwin and he can hedge things in the slot. I think they really like Yoshi and Jones but can't count on them yet. Jones is in the slot Yoshi is outside. WR1-Chase-Irwin-Jackson WR2-Higgins on Franchise or Extension-Yoshi-Lassiter Slot-FREE AGENT-Jones-Pryor I don't see a place for a rookie. In the slot, I would take the method I use in fantasy football. I like to spend in one position so I can go light on numbers and then throw a bunch of flyers at another position. Quality at one spot, quantity at another. If we have Chase and Higgins outside....we can find a slot starter through numbers. I would love to leverage the desire to play with Burrow to get some free agents with upside. We love young guys who were former high picks. I'd sign Pariss Campbell for a small non guaranteed deal, Add Scott Miller, an ohio guy who is still young and pair them with Irwin and Jones at the slot. I think one will claim the spots. Some thoughts 1-Samuel would be nice, Former OSU guy who is probably too pricy 2-McKenzie is interesting. Made league minimum last year....may have killed a bald eagle.....so that's a negative 3-Scotty Miller is a former BGSU Falcon with great speed. Could likely be had for league minimum with lots of upside still at just 27 4-Nelson Agholar is 31 but sometimes still good, if he came cheap there is some sort of veteran offset as well 5-Jamal Agnew is one of my favorites every year and isn't getting a ton of play in Jacksonville 6-Westbrook-Ikine-Just 27 and some decent stats but not great speed 7-Watkins-Ok but not special with the eagles. Only 26 with great speed 8-Berrios-Out of favor in Miami, has a weird Instagram thing going on, could be ok 9-Darnell Mooney-He was who I wanted before I started digging, probably too costly here but just 27 and a decent playmaker 10-Parris Campbell-Love this idea. Didn't do anything at NYG but solid 2 years ago in Indy. He is only 27 as well.

  20. Nick Suss, The Oak Ridger Fri, Feb 9, 2024, 2:25 PM CST·2 min read Tee Higgins, one of the best high school football players to come out of Tennessee in the last decade, isn't ruling out a return to his home state as a pro with the Tennessee Titans. Higgins, the standout Cincinnati Bengals receiver, is a free agent this offseason after four years, 257 catches and 24 touchdowns with the Bengals. The Oak Ridge High School graduate and two-time Mr. Football winner will have the opportunity to re-sign with Cincinnati or be franchise tagged by the team that drafted him. But if Higgins does hit the open market, his home state connection and familiarity with Titans coach and former Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan make the Titans a natural fit. "It would be good," Higgins said about joining up with the Titans speaking to The Sick Podcast on radio row at the Super Bowl on Thursday. "Going back home to family and then being able to play for a coach that I’ve already been under. It would be ideal." Higgins only played in 12 games in 2023 but still amassed 656 yards and five touchdowns. He surpassed 1,000 yards in 2021 and 2022, helping lead the Bengals to division titles both years. He's also proven stellar in the playoffs through his career, including a 100-yard, two-touchdown performance in Super Bowl LVI. Callahan is the only offensive coordinator Higgins has ever played for. The Titans hired Callahan in January after five years designing Cincinnati's offense, the last four of those spent with Higgins. "(He has) a great offensive mind," Higgins told TennesseeTitans.com about Callahan. "I was able to pick his brain a little bit, and learn new things about the game that I didn't know. He's just a great offensive mind." NFL teams are allowed to franchise tag players between Feb. 20 and March 5 this offseason. If Higgins and the Bengals do not agree to a contract extension before March 11 and Higgins is not franchise tagged in the aforementioned window, he will become a free agent. https://sports.yahoo.com/tee-higgins-calls-chance-reunite-202558729.html

  21. Oh it was definitely a “gotcha”. What’s the guy going to say: “Play in Nashville…are you kidding me? With this bunch? Seriously? “ All these “hard hitting journalism” questions anymore, are just to spur speculation. “He didn’t deny it…and even if he didn’t admit it..just by the avoidance, one has to wonder” Modern media is absolute shit

  22. No way in hell they’re getting the #7 overall pick in the draft for Tee. That’s not even close to being based in reality.

  23. They could take Alt at 7 and Thomas at 18 - RT/WR ... or Odunze at 7 and Guyton/Mims at 18 - WR/RT. Lots of good options and 2 guys on reasonable contracts for 4 years with future 5th year options.

  24. If they were to tag and trade Tee I'd want Tennessee Rd1..pick 7. Titans need him and Bengals could reap a big-time rookie for it . Fuaga, Alt Odunze Newton .... Damn near whoever.

  25. Nick Scott career highlight (didn't trade but point still stands)

  26. I'm low on Charlie as a WR ... but high on him as a KR and PR. I think Chase, Tee, and Yoshi make a good big 3 for this year's SB run - assuming no tag and trade. I don't see any FA WRs worth getting, so if Tee is traded they need to draft at least 2 WR to fill his void.

  27. I’ve lost track. Might be another draft one too.

  28. That’s about as open ended as it gets (assuming you were not ninja-ing the statement). And an article written by a lead writer for Nashville’s lead paper….isn’t going to be froth with leading questions for the prize recipient? Tee’s responses were indeed polite. A nice cup of tea for red meat. It’s the no-big-deal interview with the hopes of decent clicks from the Volunteer State.

  29. I don't see any team going 8mil for Boyd at this point in his career. So some team will likely pay it to him...😎 Bears are looking for receivers unless they draft Harrison.

  30. Love the "sales rack" imagery. I am bullish on Charlie too and if I remember correctly he played way more outside at Purdue than you would think. The other thing I didn't mention is that they may want to play Chase more and more in the slot. Stanley Morgan probably comes back as well. He was coached by Walters in college and we haven't added any of the veterans from the practice squad.

  31. Thanks for this. Charlie needs to get stronger but I’m still bullish on him, both as an outside threat and in the slot. Yoshi was a nice surprise and I like Irwin too… and the younger PS guys might have something. I wouldn’t be shocked if they pulled someone off the on sale rack to play some slot. Would love to see Boyd back but it’s a remote possibility as he’s looking for a decent last payday and it’s not gonna happen here, unless there’s a small FA market for him.

  32. Running back is a young man's position. We should cut Mixon for both cap and production reasons, make Brown our lead RB. Re-signing Williams makes sense given his low mileage but we should expect to find our next RB in the draft. If we sign a vet RB, it should be someone with some upside, not very expensive, and on a short deal. In other words if someone with high expectations in free agency gets passed over, then we could offer a 2 year deal at 6 mil per for Swift or Barkley or Jacobs. But I'd prefer to use the money at another position.

  33. That may be the fans preference but I think Mikey would put his foot down on that after Mixon agreed to a reduced deal last year. That kind of deal Mikey will not back away from.

  35. Yeah, I could, Jamie. In fact I am currently doing a thing on the differences between the Monroe doctrine and it's intent, and how it was perverted over the years, particularly in the late 19th century. People tend to lump these diverging "intents" together and it's one reason our citizenry is fucked up and really poorly-informed about foreign policy. But let's stay on track for this thread. The war in Southwest Asia just might spread into a regional war, which of course is very dangerous for world peace. 36. We agree. With Chase balancing Joe, they actually moved the ball on the ground—when ZT wasn’t taking them out of running. They will now have a veteran twosome, and so long as the play calling gives them a chance, they will produce

  37. I agree with this. I had hoped we would draft him that year and was stoked when we did. The guy beat Fitzgeralds numbers at Pitt. And during his time here has been a solid WR, but he does look like he's losing a step. I'm ok moving on.

  38. He's just not nearly as good as he was in the past and heading toward a cliff. The kind of player you definitely let walk.

  40. This team / front office has never had a problem identifying and acquiring talented WRs. Not worried about the prospects of having to backfill. And keep in mind, Boyd only had over 50 yards receiving in only 5 games this year (59, 53, 117, 56 and 52) with an 39 YPG average and that was even with Tee missing significant time this year. That's no knock on Boyd because he's been fantastic here but that production isn't exactly lighting the world on fire.

  41. In Myles Garrett's defense, he did miss 2 games and was playing hurt a lot of the year so that may have affected his stats. I can see why Damar Hamlin did not get Comeback Player of the Year. He hardly played. It was a great story but did not translate to the field. I can't really fault Jim Schwartz as DAOTY. The Browns defense was excellent this year and a large part of why they made the playoffs. I think DeMeco Ryans should have gotten COTY, but Kevin Stefanski did have to deal with a ton of injuries, especially on the offense so I see why he got it. Lamar Jackson as MVP-Nope. Nope. Nope. Again, defense kept the Ravens in a lot of their games. Cameron Heyward as Man of the Year-Again, Nope. Nope. Nope. Ted Karras was much more deserving. GTFOOH with these 2 choices.

  42. Just stop. You keep saying this like it’s fact when in reality you have no idea. This is a situation that could easily break precedent since they owe him so little going forward.

  43. Happy for Kovacs and Kragthorpe. Seems like they are doing a good job of developing continuity within the staff by giving guys different roles that prepare them for increased responsibility. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few young guys brought in to keep the train moving.

  44. I want to see the refs win in favor of San Francisco. Want the officiating to finally get so bad that they're forced to clean it up. Also for KC to experience the stinky end of that stick.
