Versatility. Played FB at times. He is a huge cog in making the offense go. If you look at blocking TE's like Josh Oliver etc. I think he probably had a market and wanted to stay here. That deal is really just 3M per year not to have to replace our Blockig Te, That's not bad at all.3 points

JC Latham has been mocked to the Bengals quite a bit. He declined to do the standard tests at the combine, then again at his pro day. So, he'll probably drop, hopefully past us.2 points

One time..... just once..... following a meaningless win during a lost season.... I think it was late 2018..... the dude in charge of music played this song as everyone was exiting the stadium. I sincerely wish they would play it after every win. Welcome To The Jungle Richard Cheese, from "Aperitif for Destruction"2 points

He says that if any NFL doesn’t think he’s worth a first-round pick, God will block out the sun. 🥷2 points

Most sacked QB doesn't mean his team allowed the most sacks. Most QBs can't survive 85 or even 70 sacks. Daniel Jones didn't, nor did Tyrod Taylor. That's why Tommy DeVito played so much.1 point

Not going to absolve the offensive line to be sure, but as I have mentioned ad nauseum, St. Joseph himself can factor into that sack count. He is not anywhere close to being the example of escape ability.1 point

That was last year when they'd lost the starting QB and were forced to run the ball more. In the 2 years where Joe survived the entire season he was the most-sacked QB over that span.1 point

Sounds like the writer didn't watch anything Bengals related in 2023. The Turner/Battle comments should be flippy flopped.1 point

And if you look at sack rate as % of passing attempts the Bengals ranked 17th. Likely skewed a bit by playing the AFCN pass rushes 6 times a year as opposed to other divisions. That sack rate good for 3rd best in the division: Stealers 7.1% Browns 7.2% Bengals 8.1% Ravens 8.3% Great? No. Worst? Also no.1 point

Bengals didn't allow the most sacks. Bengals allowed 50 and 6 teams allowed more, up to the Giants at 85.1 point

They arent all giving up the most sacks allowed. That's objectively the worst. Every other team is blocking better than the Bengals. I know the running excuse is "everyone has trouble finding OL" but the Bengals are still the worst at it. It doesn't mean it's easy, it means that literally every other team in the NFL is better at it I have to think that leaves some room for improvement, right?1 point

They front loaded it. That's 5/9ths of it and it's for 3 years. I don't mind it but a lot of twitter peeps thought it was dumb1 point

He's managed one full season in the past 5 years. Based on his average availability it works out to about half a mil per start. Until I know who will be playing RT the 2nd half of the season I'm gonna have to pump the brakes on all that backslapping just a bit.1 point

IMO just seems like a position can CANNOT be weak at, so letting Dax learn is gonna ahve to come in blowouts and spot work, i can specifically remember 2-3 games where we needed one stop to get the ball back with a chance and gave up the play due to a CB or Safety shitting the bed (mainly cheeto) so the depth is great in case on injury and the talent boost is great. sucks for Dax's career trajectory, but we need to get a ring ASAP, so no hard feelings but no time for that right now.1 point
