  1. Don't see that being the case and not because of this move. They had to punt like half of their defense off the roster just to get cap compliant and currently only have $4M of cap space this year and $6M next year. $55M of dead cap this year, with Diggs bein $31M of it. They don't even have a 3rd round pick in this draft either so no capital to move up in the 1st round. I seem to recall Beane saying he'd never want to be in a position to draft a Ja'Marr Chase because that means you'd have to go through some lean years. Seems like the tax man has come to collect on that receipt, if he doesn't get fired first.

  2. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/nfl/bengals/2024/04/04/amarius-mims-2024-nfl-draft-offensive-tackle-prospect-from-georgia-visits-cincinnati-bengals/ Not sure if this ⬆️ will work or not but excellent article on Mims and the visit. Sounds like if he is there, he's a Bengal

  3. Jonah should be playing G, that's his ideal position in the NFL. He's playing out of position at T as he's not strong enough to physically overpower the modern DE or big enough to make hard from them to go around or athletic enough to keep up with them. He would be a good G, but his ego will not allow him to play that position. I hope he has success in AZ though, he was a warrior for the Bengals and gave it his all...

  4. Josh Allen can't QB sneak his way to the playoffs because this current crop of receivers isn't scaring anyone and they will struggle to get open. Cutting Diggs was a cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face kind of move that could spell the end of the road for Beane and the coaching staff. If Buffalo struggles, because they are the 3rd best team in their division right now, and miss the playoffs then you can see the clear regression from the Bills. They went from Super Bowl darlings a few years ago to a team that is a shell of its former self.

  6. Yep...I think the days of picking the smaller, perceived more "athletic" tackles are over for now. Think about Jonah, his measurements we're 6'4", just over 300 lbs. Compare that with Mims like you said...now we're talking absolute mountains at Tackle

  7. The 2024 AFC conference . Upset every week among conference opponents. The AFC has the potential to have the top 6 teams on the NFL. What a dynamic Conference to play in to show your upmost talents

  8. ^ I don't want Sweat to lose any lbs. The whole point of him is he's big and fat. I want my dancing bears with all the weight they can carry on them. 🐻 He should go back to 360.

  12. I wouldn't be surprised if they add more IDL that are better at rushing the passer that they are at stopping the run. All the analytics are pointing to it being a more successful approach to be better against the pass than it is to be better against the run. The number of times teams run the ball appears to be trending downward too. I keep seeing articles all over the place about exactly that. All of the fancy charts and models show it. What if they go with Byron Murphy and someone else like Michael Hall Jr. That could add a lot of spice to the interior pass rush rotation.

  14. 100% - loved the guy, but he's no kid and he's had injury issues - bad enough for any player, but a huge dude, 330+, and knee-related, two major surgeries and rehab in 3 years? That's a lot of stress on the knees. And yeah, I'd be surprised if he answered the bell at the start of the season. But if/when healthy, Detroit has a helluva defensive front. I believe DJ was rehabbing at the Bengals' facility, so they were able to monitor his progress. Not that they didn't want him, and what he brought to the team, both on the field and in the locker room and community - and he will be hard to replace. But I don't blame the Bengals for treading lightly.

  15. Kris Jenkins better run stop rate than Sweat. I’d expect him to be in the discussion in round 2.

  16. The Bengals cannot/will not pay both Chase/Jefferson. They (apparently) cannot/will not pay Chase/Higgins, so what makes you think they would pay Jefferson the kind of guaranteed money that would be required to get him signed long term? I'm not even convinced they will be able to sign just Chase to a long term extension, but I hope they prove me wrong on that.

  17. Jefferson is definitely going to be a Bengal, the Bengals will trade Tee Higgins for him on draft day...watch..

  20. Cincinnati Enquirer 4-4-24 Read M. Anweep In a possibly controversial move that will affect the entire sports world, Tee Higgins, after chugging eight beers in a sports bar while watching March Madness, told his agent to explore his returning to college to play four years of Hoops with the UConn Huskies. Rumor has it he wants to play for both the Men's and the Women's teams utilizing the special NCAA clause of "If it brings in more money, then that's a good thing!" As for Higgins, he thinks he can get a decent NIL deal. When asked to offer more detail while barside this past weekend, Higgin's said "I can fly, I can sky, I can hit a bull eye! Gimme another Corona." Upon hearing this rumor, the UConn coaches reacted. Geno Auriemma said, " I hope he isn't injury-prone. We can use all the help we can get." Dan Hurley chewed his gum furiously and said, "Hell, Yeah!" And then he exploded.

  21. No he's not. Diggs was very productive but no bonding with Josh. Allen is in the category of making decent or good receivers a level higher. Mahomes..Burrow..are elite. Lemar too. Allen is very close to that plateau. But Allen hears the footsteps of Stroud.. Hell the whole league does.. Lawrence, Herbert, Rodgers and Tua.. That's some kind of top loaded QBs all in the AFC..

  36. Except the 2nd rounder is in 2025 so that loses a round via time. And the Bills give a pick back so really the compensation wa quite light. The Bills cap hit was HIGHER by trading him than playing him, so they really wanted him gone.

  43. murray been out 4 games, been rough, also just ice cold shooting, were 10/40 from 3 against the wolves. same the game before, also BLOWING fast break points, they were 2/17 on fast breaks. which is ASTRONOMICALLY low. like never seen that before low. were back clicking even without murray today, shot 63% from 3 pt hit 21, tied season record. roughed up the Cavs by 30. jokic a 26/16/15 triple double. they claim luca has passed jokic in the MVP race. which would be a crime. then again last year was a absolute robbery giving it to Embiid. and in 2021 giving it to Giannis again. Jokic should have 4 going on 5 MVPs. he has been an unstoppable menace. Nuggets placy the wolves next week again, if they win that they have a good chance of winning out, depending who they rest and when. i think they only play 1 other team with a winning record. Spurs twice, Hawks, Jazz, memphis, then clippers and wolves are the two decent teams. OKC plays a road back to back against the 76ers and then Boston the next night. if they drop BOTH of those, the nuggets have a solid shot at the 1 seed. a 1 seed would likely earn Jokic the MVP. Murray has now missed 21 games he is eliminated from any awards, meaning he cannot sign a SUPER MAX extension contract this offseason, just a MAX contract. which is like a 100million difference. he can risk it and not sign the deal and play next year hoping to make all star or all nba teams, but if he gets hurt, itll cost him 30-50 million most likely. Nuggets in 2nd place, half game up on Wolves, tied with OKC but losing tie breaker. they lose tie breaker with Wolves and Thunder no matter what.
