I can't wait to bitch about not signing any good free agents!!!!

Meaning he wasn;t there some one else used his gun to shoot someone.
even if he wasn't the shooter, its a misdemeanor (with a sentence up to 1 yr) in PA for your gun to be used in a crime, whether you fired it or not. To date, he's still skating on that...
Former Buckeye Doss signs contract
He's a vet of 54 NFL games, 43 starts
By Mark Curnutte • mcurnutte@enquirer.com • December 10, 2008

The Bengals have the second fewest victories in the NFL, but they might lead the league in roster moves.

On Tuesday, the club signed free agent safety Mike Doss, a former Ohio State star. A former second-round draft pick of the Colts, Doss spent four seasons in Indianapolis before signing with the Vikings as an unrestricted free agent. He spent a season in Minnesota, which let his contract expire. Doss, who has not been with another NFL team this season, is a veteran of 54 games and 43 starts, plus two starts in five postseason games.

In the regular season, Doss has 178 tackles, seven interceptions and 17 passes broken up.

To make room for Doss, the Bengals waived defensive end Josh Mallard, who had been with the Bengals for the past two games, both of which he played with one tackle on special teams.

The Bengals also signed rookie cornerback Marcus Brown to the practice squad.

A former McNeese State player, Brown was a free agent with Arizona and played in three preseason games with the Cardinals. He was waived Aug. 26.

HONOR: Linebacker Rashad Jeanty is the winner of the Bengals' Ed Block Courage Award.

The award honors NFL players who demonstrate commitment to the values of sportsmanship and courage. Each team selects one player as its nominee. Jeanty will be honored with the other recipients at the annual awards banquet in Baltimore following the 2008 season.

"Rashad is very worthy of the recognition bestowed upon him by his teammates," said Paul Sparling, Bengals head athletic trainer. "He came through some tough childhood circumstances, he worked his way into the NFL through the Canadian Football League, and he is one of our finest examples of a player who fights through injuries.

"He gives it his all every day, on the field and off the field."

Jeanty has played in all 13 Bengals games this year, with 12 starts. He ranks third on the team in tackles (82), second in special teams tackles (15) and tied for first in forced fumbles (two).

He also has a special teams fumble recovery, a Bengals onside kick recovery, five QB hurries and two passes broken up.

A native of Miami, Fla., Jeanty played in college at Central Florida and entered pro football from 2003-2005 with Edmonton in the Canadian Football League.

He signed with the Bengals as a free agent in 2006 and now has 35 career NFL games played with 28 starts.

waived DE Josh Mallard
I think they waived him, because they found out who he really is.
He had them fooled for a little while, by making himself look
all psychotic. But they knew they had seen him somewhere before . . .
Yeah, you're right, Doss just wasn't signed by anyone because no other team in the league lost safeties to injury.

Great point.

Dhani is shit.
I know I'm right. Name another team that has lost as many safeties as us? (And we're a team that of late keeps 5-6 safeties on our opening day roster)

It took us losing that many until we were willing to bring in a guy with felony gun charges baggage. (In the era of Goodell)

Other teams hadn't gotten that desparate.

As to Dhani, you don't purposefully start for the Eagles and Giants, and amass 450 solo tackles by being shit.

Again, opinions aside, he is at least serviceable. That simply can't be argued.
I'd laugh my ass off if the pro shop got a couple calls asking about the availability of Doss jerseys.

This has been a Buckeye/Bengal fans wet dream for a long time.

You know if the bengals kept Krenzel we wouldn't be 1-11-1 right now?
Wait till we draft Laurinaitis, SUPERBOWL!!!

another move:
Roster move 12.10
Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 02:46 PM EST [Bengals]

Bengals signed rookie defensive end Chris Harrington from the Arizona practice squad. Harring (6-5, 265) was a sixth-round pick by the Cardinals out of Texas A&M. He had 10 tackles and a sack in the preseasonn.

The team put DE/LB Eric Henderson on the Reserve/Injured list. Henderson suffered a neck injury on Nov. 2 against Jacksonville.

Also, OT Justin Britt was waived from the Reseve/Injured list.
I remember liking Harrington around draft time. He reminded me of Justin Smith, but at a 5th round price tag and a little more speed.
