Bengals start their releases

Why not put him on PUP? He is not taking anyone's spot and if there is an injury in the middle of the season, Scott can come right off PUP and take his spot. Would have a RB with fresh legs and knows the offense to bring in. Better than trying to find someone off the street. No harm in putting him on PUP. Can always cut him if he is not needed.

Old hates never die. Can hardly wait for next year's new crop.

He isn't needed now. He's not even worth putting him up there. I'm tired of seeing his fucking name. I'm tired of him being associated with this team. He is so goddamn horrible.

I can name at least 4-5 players we just cut that can be starters on other teams days 1. That's how deep this team is.

  1. Lewis: We played last year with five safeties. There's no cookie cutter on how to cut a roster.

  2. Lewis on Hawkins: Still weighing IR-recall

    Expand
  3. Lewis on cuts: Lamur needs surgery. On 5 backers: We'll check waivers for a sixth

#Bengals not exactly getting gray. More salt and pepper. Avg years of NFL experience at cutdown: 3.75 in 2011, 4.08 in 2012, 4.22 in 2013

#Bengals average age at 2012 cutdown 25.8, 26.4 in 2013. And Happy 35th to @terencenewman this coming Wednesday.

So much drama over a FB, a FB who can't even catch. This board always surprises me.

Seriously we NEED a run of the mill do-nothing-but-lower-your-helmet-and-crash-into-people FB to win the superbowl? Someone please lay out the argument where this guy who does nothing but indicate to the other 11 players on defense that a run play is upcoming is fucking vital to winning a superbowl?

Lunacy.

Who knows?

Fragel would be an easy one to 86. He's hurt...and will most likely easily clear waivers.

Plus there are 100 Reid Fragels every year...there would be another one next, if we miss out on him.

but you're looking at the raw, injured, one year of college experience at tackle reid fragel that we witness now... with your own eyes. what's so intriguing about the guy is his projected upside, which we can't see right now. that upside has been scrutinized and projected by tons of people who do this for a living, and it's something that there's enough of, that it makes him an interesting and valuable asset.

there really isn't 100 reid fragels every year.

Yeah why would anyone need a fullback in the AFC North ? A division where a good portion of the season is played in cold, windy condition with precipitation. Lunacy indeed

There really are, Ed. Just like Hawkinsons, Porters, etc, take your pick. I am not saying that these guys are not looked at closely, evaluated, and such. Of course they are. And next off season, a whole new slew will be looked at, evaluated, and chosen. Losing a Fragel to injury, taken off waivers/PS, etc, sets the franchise back a year on development...but it isn't like another Reid Fragel won't be around next March or April. And who knows..maybe this Reid Fragel will be here anyway?

Lunacy.

But a can't-block-a-lick hybrid something or other who whiffs or gets blown over each time a running play is called and fails because there is no lead block...this can assist in costing a SB, no?
