Today, the eve of the season, is the day we salute the Father of Football on the anniversary of his birth.

Paul Brown. The man responsible for so many things, and whose physical legacy lives on in Cincinnati and Baltimore.

Happy Birthday, PB!

Paul Brown did more to promote

equality in the league than any other .

His early teams were so good and popular the Cleveland Rams moved to LA..

Started 2 franchises and successful at both.

I respected him as a founder and man..

Happy Birthday Coach..

If the season ended today, there would be a LOT of pissed-off Season Ticket Holders.

Nevertheless, looking at the tiebreakers after one week of play, the Bengals are in 3rd place in the AFC North, and would be the #12 seed across the entirety of the AFC... although the NYJ/SFF game on MNF will force an update of the AFC seeding.  (Ignore what my .sig says... we're tied for 2nd at 0-1, tiebreakers notwithstanding)

Tiebreakers:

1 - Overall Record... PIT 1-0 (1st), BAL/CFT/CIN 0-1 (tied for 2nd-4th)

2 - Head-to-head... N/A

3 - Division Record... N/A

4 - Conference Record... BAL/CIN 0-1, CFT 0-0.  A 0-0 record is NO RECORD, and the tiebreaker is abandoned because there is nothing to compare.

5 - Common Opponents / SOV / SOS, are also abandoned, because all three teams either have identical record or at least one is 0-0.

8 -  Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.  BAL is #6 on scoring offense and #11 on scoring defense, CIN is #14 and #4, CFT is #10 and #15.  BAL 6+11=17 is 2nd, CIN 14+4=18 is 3rd, CFT 10+15=25 is 4th (lower is better)

Across the Conference:

Division Leaders:

#1 LAC (1-0 5+1=6)

#2 PIT (1-0 7+1=8)

#3 MIA (1-0 6+5=11)
#4 HOU (1-0 2+11=13)

The Rest:

#5 KCC (1-0 3+6=9)

#6/7 NEP (1-0 13+1=14)
#6/7 BUF (1-0 1+13=14)

#8/9 JAX (0-1 10+6=16)

#8/9 DEN (0-1 6+10=16)

#10/11 BAL (6+11=17)

#10/11 IND (3+14=17)

#12 CIN (14+4=18)

#13 TEN (10+9=19)

#14 LVR (14+8=22)

#15 CFT (10+15=25)

No Data: NYJ (0-0)

The tied teams would go to step 9 of the tiebreakers, comparing their offensive/defensive scoring rankings league-wide rather than just in conference.

If Hudson hadn't fumbled and we had won 17-16, we would be 2nd in the North and the #6 seed.

(1-LAC 2-PIT 3-MIA 4-HOU / 5-KCC 6-CIN 7-BUF // 8/9-JAX/DEN 10/11-BAL/IND 12-NEP 13-TEN 14-LVR 15-CFT)

But fortunately, the season does NOT end this weekend.  We've got 16 more games to play, and 16-1 is probably good enough to make the playoffs.

You know when they describe a particular amenity as an "experience", they're just laying the groundwork to charge stupid-high prices for it.

Agree...

Going to be hefty price to get in..

No different than any other newly constructed stadium..

Looks beautiful.
