Not sure if there are any basketball fans here on the board (I'm a Knicks fan myself), looks like Goodberry continues to cash in on being one of the top Bengals "Fanalysts" with these Cincy basketball jerseys:

The climate always changes.  That's what it does. It's a climate.

That was the first game back after the strike. With Jack Thompson basically AWOL, Schonert moved up to the #2 and WR Steve Kreider was the emergency #3 QB until they brought Mike Ford in 2 weeks later. They were a house on fire after the strike. Seemed primed for another SB run, then the wheels just fell off in the 2nd quarter of the Jets playoff game. A bitter ending to what had been shaping up to be a pretty sweet season.

This isn’t a “memorabilia” thing…but ran across this photo. It was after the Packers won the 1961 NFL Championship. Lombardi bought the wives/girlfriends of each player a mink stole. That was a huge deal in the ‘50’s and early ‘60’s for the ladies.

I always thought that if you want to wear any kind of fur, you should have to leave the poor animal's head attached.

(well, since 1974 anyway)

Coats requiring the pelts of 20 mink probably wouldn't be so well received in high society.

For perspective, it was the mid-point of the 20th Century. Opulence at the expense of wildlife was commonplace and accepted.

Then again, how many modern-day people think that the tusks of elephants promote virility?

Don’t get me started. 😡

True story: [Sorry for the long setup]. I  took driver’s training through my high school (central Indiana), during the summer (probably 1970).   The Instructor had one set of students in the morning, and one set In the afternoon, every Tuesday & Thursday…except for one week late in the course where the morning class had the car all day on Tuesday and the afternoon class was off…and then reversed that for Thursday.

For the all-day class, the instructor gave us the name of two towns in Indiana, and a road map.  As a class we had to plan our route to those locations.  The first location was Young America, Indiana.  Turns out, the instructor knew the owner of a mink farm there…so we got a tour of the facility.  Pretty neat, but what I remember most were all of the Playboy centerfolds plastered on the mink farm’s office walls.

Such is the life of a 15-year-old boy. 😎

[I don’t recall any of the girls in my class complaining, nor even mentioning it…but I’m sure that it wouldn’t fly today.]

My husband claims that my MIL had a mink stole with the head attached. 😳

Very sad to hear that Teri Garr (left) passed away yesterday. She was 79. (29 when she made "Young Frankenstein")

Of the main actors in the cast of "Young Frankenstein", only Gene Hackman is left now.
