When the Bengals went man they abused both corners in man to man. Vonn Bell may know the calls and reads, but can’t cover squat. Anuromo can game plan the hell out of the Super Bowl champions, but can’t do shit against Washington? I was thinking about this after the last game, let alone this one... I was remembering Joe's off-season quote "we're built to beat the Chiefs". It honestly feels like they believe they ONLY need to beat the Chiefs, and perhaps that's all they really prepared for.

And Ossai and Hubbard have truly been hot garbage so far.

Could the season be ended by the Ginger Water Pistol? 😳 We can probably count on Andy for at least one TO but Chuba Hubbard comes in averaging 5.2ypc with a receiving TD on top. That's a must-start for the fantasy nerds.

Maybe the backers and backfield would look better if they didn't have to cover for 3 or 4 seconds Sauce Gardner would look bad back there

Their dline is totally banged up and what's left is what we watched. Corners can't hang with receivers all day. Pass rush aside from,Trey is Non Existent

I'm coming around to the idea they should be signing both Tee & Ja'Marr. I think they could make the money & cap work if they truly wanted to spend it that way instead of expecting a small market team to support their entire lineage indefinitely.
September 24, 2024Sep 24 comment_1764889 The team has some tough questions to ask itself. I know Pollack gets alot of heat around here, but maybe it's time we start holding some of our defensive coaches accountable? Who has Marrion Hobby developed? Who has Charles Burkes developed? Who has Jordan Kovaks developed? What player have we drafted on the defense that has been a difference maker? I think Lou is a good D Coordinator when he has good players, but he's pretty below average when he has even average ones. I know we were down to 3rd string DTs, but we couldnt even get one stop? One?
September 24, 2024Sep 24 comment_1764890 They may want to win, but ownership that will never fire anyone = soft. They've brought in some key free agents, but a front office not insisting the coaches get the most from them = soft. 3 years after Apple needlessly poked the sleeping bear that was the Rams with a stick before giving up the game winner and losing the Super Bowl. 2 years after the Burrowhead nonsense and losing the AFC Championship. After 2 weeks straight of immature, elementary school level trash talk from CTB. Zac finally says "that's not who we are"! Really? Since when? But Zac can lose every game in any excruciatingly stupid way he wants and there's no danger of any recourse? We suck now, but even when we were better his calls were atrocious at times. Finally establishing the run, he'd kill drives with gadget plays. And why are we always in a very soft zone defense on gotta have a stop to win the game plays? If the opponent needs 7 yards to stay alive, we concede 9. If they need 12 yards to stay alive, we concede 15. It's maddening. Coaches held to no accountability = soft. I'd never call an NFL player soft, but the mindset has infected the play on the field. Burrow took a sack on 1st and goal tonight, and it's far from the first time. He is definitely not the problem though. He is still a generational talent at the toughest position in sport, quarterback. And because he is, it feels like something has got to give sooner than later. The world is watching the Bengals now because we have Joe Burrow, and yet we suck more by the minute. It doesn't add up, and I'm not sure how the franchise can continue to evade accountability with excuses and more pollyanna bullshit about "seeing some good things out there, it's not time to panic, some guys are injured, like the direction we're heading..." Anyway, will be interesting to see what happens. I've never seem them in a hole like this with a healthy Joe Burrow.

I think the NFL is licking their chops waiting for the opportunity to move the Bengals, Panthers/Jags or maybe all three and another one to offshore. I don't think that they were anomalies but I definitely think this franchise is battling more than meets the eye.

September 24, 2024Sep 24 comment_1764898 It feels like we are in year 2006 of the Carson Burrow experiment. Our hero comes back from an injury and the offense plays well only to see the defense play like utter crap for 2 years. So figure 2026 is when Burrow gets his next season ending injury and Ryan Fitzpatrick comes out of retirement.
September 24, 2024Sep 24 comment_1764900 From goodberry, good question... 🤔 Bengals defensive draft picks since 2020 -- How Many Hits? 1st - Dax Hill, Myles Murphy 2nd - Cam Taylor-Britt, DJ Turner, Kris Jenkins 3rd - Logan Wilson, Joseph Ossai, Zach Carter, Jordan Battle, McKinnley Jackson 4th - Akeem Davis-Gaither, Tyler Shelvin, Cam Sample, 5th - Khalid Kareem, Tycen Anderson, Josh Newton 6th - Cedric Johnson 7th - Markus Bailey, Wyatt Hubert, Jeff Gunter, DJ Ivey, Daijahn Anthony
September 24, 2024Sep 24 comment_1764901 ⬆️ Maybe three?? Not how you can draft after paying your QB and (hopefully) WR1

If they keep losing they should trade Higgins and hendrickson. Then resign chase to long term deal.
