  1. i got my seats back. talked to 3 people and got pumped to a manager finally and it took some selling i had to pull out all the stops, all truthful, but i had to play the logic, the heart strings, the begging, and they gave in, its possible i will lose a set next year and keep a set.. but we shall see. after the fact the things that was frustrating me the most that caused my rage, is im getting older, my health isnt exactly great, and my kids are getting older, there arent going to be many years that i can spend this time with my oldest son, in a few years he is gonna have a demanding job, family, and maybe kids of his own, and fucking off to ohio to watch the bengals with me isnt gonna be possible. and the thought of the bengals stripping that away from me to appease some assholes on a wait list, assholes WHO DIDNT SUPPORT THEM WHEN SALES WERE DOWN, but want tickets now that they are good, theyd take that away from me for those fans? for no gain in their pocket? probably an emotional flounce but i was about ready to be done with this franchise. you cursed my life with andy dalton and now this??!?!? fool me once...

  3. These are always fun. And I always get foreclosed thoughts when I don't run through these and then see the obvious and necessary pivots "real life" makes you take. Here is my first one. 4. Nice to see the NFL catching up to what the XFL had 4 years ago.... 2/29/2020 - BattleHawks vs Sea Dragons - "The XFL down-and-distance markers are digital AND they communicate with each other. The first down marker displays the distance between it and the line marker. Which is pretty cool."

  6. At $750K minimum per year…it’s just a short walk over to Taste of Belgium. They are open on Tuesdays

  7. If Becton doesn't find a market the first couple of days, I could see him coming here for a year as cover for a rookie RT.

  8. As you certainly know, very few FA’s of superior quality will be within the Bengals’ erstwhile price range. “untapped potential” is the selling point for the peanuts they might be willing to take away from Uno to pay anyone else.

  12. Agreed, some of it is because it's the first year in a more than 1 year deal.

  13. Bowers is big enough. There had been claims he was only 6'2" and 230 or such.

  14. He's there! Had a couple interviews, says he looks up to Kittle and Gronk (unsurprisingly)

  20. That’s actually a pretty good point that people don’t think about. Probably not much of a curve there but I’ve worked with guys who had a natural reaction to pull their finger early and others who couldn’t get the laces spun. Guessing his lack of holding was a reason the Bengals targeted Carmada two years ago and left without a punter once he got snatched.

  21. Wasn't really sure where to put this, the around the NFL forum doesn't get much traffic

  22. Yep - 10 yard splits are good to know, but top speed/overall athleticism such as relative athleticism score (RAS) to determine if tape matches. Think over 90% of AP’s this year had a RAS over 8.00.

  24. Was coming here to post that. Pretty interesting. Probably shows Murphy is a little raw coming out but oozing with potential. Fiske should start D1 but probably maxed out with where he’s at being 24.5.

  25. I still liked the old school days when the backup quarterback was the holder. Always a threat to stand up and throw one down the field. Cool stuff, that.

  26. It's not going to change if he's the feature back this year. All Taylor has to do is tell him to stay in on blitzes..

  27. Things his OL doesn't need to work on: 1. Impression of a turtle on its back 2. Helping the QB up off the ground 3. Forgetting the snap count 4. Shuffling their feet while trying to decide who they're supposed to block 5. Jogging downfield without getting involved in the play 6. ????

  28. I agree but it's maybe not that easy to me, we just watched the defense lose them a lot of games that Browning was capable of winning. Protecting the QB is more important but they couldn't get off the field on 3rd down. This OL also looked a lot worse than just one RT away from OK. More to my point, with $50m in cap space and the biggest chunk of that assigned to someone with high trade value that's not in their long term plans, they don't have to choose one or the other. They could potentially sign 2 FA's and have 2 1st round picks as well. Assuming Higgins is as good as gone, is it really worth passing on all that just to keep him another year? There's a pretty good FA pool for WR's, Higgins may be the best of them but there are good options for a WR2. Some combination of OT/DT/WR with the first 3 picks & complimentary FA's at those positions is the only way I see them keeping pace in the North. Rely solely on the draft, even with extra picks, and we're going to be chasing again.

  29. "Takes a lot of pride in making Robbins better" & this is how relying on coaches as primary draft scouts becomes a problem. This team does not have the luxury of waiting. I like Simmons but I fear he's been in that same chair for too long. He was named Assistant Head Coach when they hired Taylor. His duties include muddying the waters about who is in charge & undermining ZT's authority. Not with bad intentions but WTF is the purpose of giving him that title when they've just hired a new HC to make Big Changes? They did the same bullshit to Marvin, naming Ketchup Wizard the assistant HC when he was hired. It's not really a changing of the guard when you make the last remnant of the old guard your 2nd in command and give the new one a 3 year contract. That's hedging your bets, it's showing that not only do they not have full confidence in the new hire, they want a daily reminder lurking in the next office. IDK what that's about but it smells musty to me. Ownership need to get over treating these coaches like they have tenure. He's not the loyal family butler. He's a football coach that's been on the same team through 20 years of underachieving. Why isn't he an OC or DC somewhere else, if not here? Or an actual head coach? Sounds to me like someone way too comfortable with the status quo.

  30. Probably not but he's not worth the money if so. Hes afraid to death to block a Blitzer unless it's a CB. Anyone else and he's already bailing out for a swing pass which the QB might have to throw under duress instead of blocking and letting the QB look for his main targets. Same ole same ole..

  31. The Reds have a nutritionist on staff, I had saw a pic of some chick in the dugout with the players and someone asked who it was and they said it was the nutritionist. Which was wild that she was in the dugout with the players during the game to me.

  32. The DJ Reader of 2024 won't be the Reader of 2022 and 2023. He's coming off his second season-ending injury and most likely won't heal as quickly as he did the previous time. He should give the team a major discount for age and injury history but with the cap jumping up, I wouldn't count on it. Instead of giving DJ 15 mil per year, we should spend the money on other players. If we want a stopgap until a rookie is ready, then guys like Ashawn Robinson would fit the bill.

  33. I get that this is 1st world problems, but if you want to compete for FA's you need to be on par with what other teams do in all areas.

  34. Somebody call a whambulance for these poor babies. NFL Rookie minimum for 22/23 was 750K Maybe a couple of players could get together and get their families a suite or 2 or 3 and hire a babysitter for their underprivileged children.

  35. An F MINUS!!!??? Not just an F, an F MINUS. Seems like having NO family care and NO cafeteria would warrant an F. Is Mike Brown taking a dump on the players’ wives….and on the cafeteria food?
