-GoBengals- Posted March 18, 2011 Report Share Posted March 18, 2011 There was a time in my life where i probably spent 8 hours a day on this site, posted in every topic, had heated heavy discussions on EVERYTHING, etc. It was a blast, and people have always been great to converse with, even if it ended in an argument that two sides wouldnt agree on EVER... that is what message boards are for. This site still exists in a large part because i like some of the posters here, I have created many friendships here, and because I am too lazy to relocate the other low-traffic sites i have to a cheaper server and this one is the only one that pays part of that big ass bill each month. Let me thank everyone from the lurkers to old, to backer to bunghole, to elflocko for keeping the site from catching fire and burning to the ground due to my ineptitude over the years.. everyone has been a part of making this a fun place. BUUUUUUT its not that fun anymore is it? lots of bitching... a lot can be tagged to the down year, the nfl fuck up negotiations and a nightmare situation with a franchise QB... but not all of it... another important portion of the misery around here is people just being nasty for no fuckin reason to other people.. what the FUCK is some peoples problem? you get on a message board act like a shithead, sign off and do what? go be a decent human being to your wife? kids? co workers? friends? ... maybe everyone should try the "decent human being" act on here a bit more..im not asking you to be nice, friendly, accommodating, inviting, pleasant, or even good. some common fucking courtesy is all that is really required.... why is that hard? no matter who you are on here, whether its a 7 year member with 500,000 posts or a 1 week member with no posts.. the chances that you know so much more about football or any given situation being discussed here to the point that you need to completely degrade and belittle people over and over and over and over is fucking ZERO. so even if you think you are right, HELL even if you ARE 100% right, have proof and have proven it. if shits getting out of hand.... just walk away... start a new topic, respond in another topic.. let the shit go... whats the point in a huge pissing contest? what is accomplished? there will be no douschebag dollars in your paypal account for winning the shittiest poster award on a bengals fan site... I have no issue with suspending a buncha motherfuckers, long time or short time members for 6 months until the season hopefully starts... i've done it before and since im barely here i wont read your begging to return PM's and emails, nor will i read the ones cussing me out when i ignore the pretend nice PM's asking to return... cause that shit goes down every single time, fyi. can we fucking play nice? i am about to turn 30 soon, i care way more about what color my 5 yr old colored with at school than a bunch of forum bickering... i really wish everyone here did too.. there is plenty to discuss here... and it can sure be done in a remotely decent manner. thats all i ask... REMOTELY DECENT.... the bar is set pretty low, im pretty shocked so many manage to get below it so often. MODS/ADMIN: I dont really have time to PM everyone individually as i work then head to Ohio tomorrow and have packing to do. If there are issues, i threads get out of hand, shoot me a PM or email, or hide it and show me... when things get straight deleted i get a bunch of PM's from people angry, some legit, some not, but its a problem that can be avoided pretty easily. I dont want to be forum thuggin and remove everyones powers, we are all adults, hell all of you are older than me, I shouldnt have to make these threads and I shouldnt have to make comments on this stuff... everyone is a mod or admin for a really specific and really valid reason.. lets keep it that way... -Ryan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If that means I get in trouble for saying this, then so be it. It just seems like the pot is not only calling the kettle black, but it's holding the can of black paint.... and a paint brush. The personal shots are uncalled for but I really don't see much of that. I see a lot of passionate bengals fans who are pissed off and rightfully so. Each has their own position on what they think the problem is and then its debated. I don't think its bitching if people disagree or argue things that can't be changed, it keeps it interesting. I think things got a little lax in that area when the population had the explosion it did after huddles melted down (maybe for similar reasons?).. I'm not blaming those newer members, but back in the day, while there was the occasional fight, people were here to have fun, not prove how big an internet bad ass they were.. That's the only way things will stop. As long as people keep holding on to this crap, it won't. I think the message is valid regardless of whoever is sending it. What matters now is how people behave from this point on. hopefully everyone will try, because I hate to see this place going down the tubes.
