I know he likes the area but there appears to be a "big event" on March 24th at Horseshoe Casino and I am not sure what to make of it yet. I posted here for those that follow Michael Bush.

The Bengals haven't confirmed his visit yet....at least I don't think....Reedy said they confirm after a visit...so hopefully this is a good sign.

yeah, tells me they're still negotiating or making it a multiple day visit

At about 6 pm he left PBS. 10 minutes or so later his agent was on the phone with Seattle... Just an assumption.

“I can tell you they'll be in for a visit” means to me that Seahawks GM released the info directly after Bush (or his agent) left PBS and made contact with him. Otherwise, Bush would not be going to Seattle if he had a contract with the Bengals...

He picked up one in Crestwood (Oldham County) Kentucky for his parents. I don't doubt that he has at least one somewhat nearby his parents.

According to Hobson Bush wasn't even in town today.

"Also in town Monday were Texans tight end Joel Dreessen and Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman, but the real attraction was Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis. He's setting up what has been reported as Raiders running back Michael Bush's visit on Tuesday."

The back situation is making for some good debate. Bush, 27, and Green-Ellis, 26, are solid, productive guys who are younger than the 29-year-old Cedric Benson now being used in the past tense in Bengaldom.

One of the things that has Benson on the outs is last season's 3.9 yards per carry average. The Bengals are looking for some home-runs, some big plays that Benson rarely gave them with only four runs of at least 20 yards.

But Green-Ellis didn't have a run longer than 18 yards last season while Bush had five of at least 20, and both had averages less than Benson at 3.7 and 3.8, respectively.

So would the Bengals be better off drafting one to team with Bernard Scott and his career 4.6 average that dipped to 4.0 after last season?

Yet one of the compelling arguments for signing a veteran back to team with a rookie and Scott is the insurance it provides at the most vulnerable of positions. Plus, Bush is a versatile guy and local favorite that can catch passes out of the backfield and Green-Ellis would be a welcome addition to the AFC North with his zero fumbles.

It remains to be seen if the Bengals want to get into a bidding war with the Pats with Green-Ellis suggesting he'll give New England a chance to re-sign him.

I like Bernard Scott but if they make him the number 1 back I see him as the Chris Perry experment. FAIL.

I don't think that "experiment" is even being thought of. Much less happening.

This is strange because Reedy confirmed Bush was in the building today. Must be a multi day visit! I really want the Bengals to sign him.

Seems like Bush has been one of the weirdest FAs to follow so far. There were conflicting reports on if he was visiting AZ or not. Then today's contradictory reports about the Bengals and Seahawks visits. Just seems like nobody has had good, accurate info on him so far (probably b/c his agent isn't leaking like most other agents?).

I still think this one makes too much sense for both him and for the Bengals for it not to happen. Cincy (along with Cleveland) are probably his only 2 realistic destinations where he would have a good shot of stepping right in as the starter. And with Cleveland, there's the very real chance they could take Richardson at #4 (or after trading down a few spots).

That's becoming more obvious as things go on and the Seahawks possibly emerge as our primary competition offering him clearly a backup spot behind Lynch, who is younger and just got big money to be the starter there. You'd have to think they probably aren't offering him anything real substantial to fill that role, so money shouldn't be much of an issue either.

Its painful watching my favorite team sign these scrubs, dammnnitt can we get a home one threat instead of someone who can take it for a long of 30 yards the whole season

I know this post is a dew days old, but I live in Sacramento (about an hour from Oakland) and get the Raider Nation shoved down my throat every week. Bush is a good RB. I watch every single Raider game and Bush is much better than you give him credit for. Paired with Scott he would be pretty damn awesome. Last year he was an every down back because of McFadden being injured and I think he got tired towards the end of the season. Bush is much better than Benson in goalline situations, and I believe he will be much better in ypc with the Bengals than he was with the Raiders.

Joe Reedy says Bush is still in Cincy and his visit should be wrapped up today.

Bengals turn focus to running backs

March, 19, 2012

By Jamison Hensley

The Bengals take their first step in replacing Cedric Benson on Monday, when they host two free-agent running backs, Michael Bush and BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

It's interesting to note that Bush is visiting Cincinnati on Monday, but he already met coach Marvin Lewis last week at Arizona, where Lewis was attending Arizona State's pro day.

My read on the situation is that the Bengals want Bush and could be using Green-Ellis as leverage to get the Oakland Raiders running back. Bush, 27, seems to be the better fit for Cincinnati. The Bengals aren't the only team interested in Bush, who visited the Bears last week and could be headed next to Seattle, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

While Bush's average (3.8 yards per carry) will remind some of Benson, he is more dynamic than Benson. He caught 37 passes for 418 yards last year, which would bring another look to the Bengals offense. Benson averaged 20 receptions in his four seasons in Cincinnati.

Bush doesn't have the breakaway speed that the Bengals could use (seven runs over 20 yards in four years), but neither does Green-Ellis. The Bengals wouldn't be wrong in signing Green-Ellis, who is young (26), durable (hasn't missed a game in the past two years), reliable (has never fumbled in his NFL career) and strong in the red zone (24 touchdowns in two seasons).

Green-Ellis, though, could be using the Bengals as well. He is currently in talks to stay with the Patriots."I don't know what's going to happen," Green-Ellis told MassLive.com on Friday. "I just have to sit back and wait for things to unfold."

Whether the Bengals sign Bush, Green-Ellis or another veteran free agent, Cincinnati is still planning to go with a running back by committee with backup Bernard Scott and perhaps a rookie draft pick.

It is my understanding that the Bengals do no release information about a visit until the visit is concluded (see Reedy's Twitter account for further information). IF negotiations are still ongoing and/or Bush is still in town, the Bengals will not release information until the conclusion. Seahawks GM confirmed that Bush will be visiting Seattle. Seattle's GM only confirmed the visit after 6 pm yesterday. Other reports were Bush was in Cinci (Reedy, etc..) and the Seattle release of information sounds like a game being played during negotiations.

In other words, Hobson is a tool of the Bengals organization and Reedy will probably release the information first. I just find it funny that Hobson doesn't seem to have the scoop hardly ever and is probably closer than most other writers.
