Twitter rumors that the Browns are offering both 1st round picks in 2015 for Andre Johnson. That can't be real, right? The guy is 30 years old.

we can hope.  They aren't winning anything this year.  He's going to be 33 when the season starts and his cap hits for the next 3 years are $15.6M, $16.1M and $14.7M

Giving up 2 first rounds for him is just asinine.

No way Andre Johnson is worth 2 first rounders. Houston is supposedly looking for a 2015 3rd rounder which might be more than he's worth but something Cleveland could afford. Of course the Browns should have just gotten Stevie Johnson instead of Buffalo's 4th round pick in 2015. He's better than Earl Bennett for Miles Austin.

You take that deal in a heartbeat if you're the Texans.

I would be utterly stunned if it happened. Even AJ is not worth 2 first round picks and AJ is young and great.  The reason is AJ will need to be signed soon so you give up two first rounders on rookie contracts and have to pay HUGE money for those two picks next year.  Also, you are only getting one player back and as much fun as it is to watch expensive awesome WRs catch the ball, quality teams are built on having very good players everywhere on the field.

When you figure Cleveland might possibly have two picks that might average out to around pick numbers 7-12, those are HUGE picks to give up for anyone besides someone like Aaron Rodgers.

Browns release Greg Little

The Browns brought in a pair of veteran receivers this week, but they’re reportedly closing it out by cutting a different one.

PFT has learned that the Browns are parting ways with Greg Little. The move leaves the newly signed Miles Austin and Earl Bennett to go with Andrew Hawkins, Nate Burleson and Travis Benjamin at wideout with Josh Gordon facing a suspension.

Little was a second-round pick of the team in 2011 and has started 41-of-48 regular season games since joining the team, but he seemed to steadily fall out of favor last season on his way to 41 catches for 465 yards and two touchdowns. Drops have been an issue for Little over the years and, despite the starting role, he never developed into the receiver the Browns were hoping to get when they drafted him.

There were reports that last year’s Browns regime was planning to proceed without Little before the Browns decided to proceed without them. He clearly didn’t make much in the way of a positive impression on the new decision makers either if they were willing to wash their hands of Little even with Gordon likely out of the picture.

Little may get another look this summer, but getting cut from this receiver group isn’t the best omen for a long NFL career.

Edit: thought he'd be out for our game but was looking at preseason week 4. whoops.

Robert Mathis of the Indianapolis Colts has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2014 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Mathis will be eligible to return to the Colts' active roster on Monday, September 29 following the team's September 28 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Mathis is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.

Think we have any interest in bringing back Pressley?

@pfspot: #Browns waived WR Josh Cooper, WR Tori Gurley, FB Chris Pressley and TE Andre Smith. #NFL

I imagine that if he's being cut in May by a team that doesn't really have a FB, doesn't bode well for his health, but there may be another unknown reason.

I'm going with hands of stone.  In today's NFL, even a classical run-blocking TE has to be able to catch the ball effectively to keep defenses honest.  Pressley was a decent battering ram, but that's all he was.  If you look at the fullbacks that have been drafted in the last 4-5 years, they all have that one thing in common - they can catch too.

Interesting take on Haden....(and almost sure to start a Dalton conversation)

the writer is notoriously not a fan of Haden or Dalton.  He loves him some Leon Hall though.

He's also a Steelers fan for whatever that's worth.
