November 7, 20231 yr comment_1723968 Some interesting things with the snap counts. The TE snaps were really spread out between all 4 guys. With 70 total plays for the game, Sample had 26 snaps, Smith 25, Hudson 16, Wilcox 10. Hudson had 4 catches on only 16 snaps...clearly they don't trust him at all as a blocker. The core special teams players are TWilliams, Wilcox, Iosivas, Evans, and Battle. They were on almost every unit. Stanley Morgan doesn't show up on the snap chart because he didn't take any from scrimmage, but he played many roles on special teams in Anderson's place. CJ Turner may have been the most exhausted player on the team after the game. He got 9 special teams snaps in addition to getting 51 CB snaps (88%) on the game. Awuzie got 38 CB snaps (60%) while Taylor-Britt got 33 snaps (57%) with reduced workload due to injury management. The most forgotten guy on the teams seems to be Ossai. Only got 4 snaps from scrimmage and zero snaps on special teams. Not sure what's going on there, but thus far he has had an extremely quiet year.

Ossai is a good player, despite the mistake he made in the AFCC, he was the one who got us the win by sacking Mahomes in the regular season game. I hope it's just a case of bringing him back from injury slowly like they were doing with Cheeto.

He and Trey just have no quit for 60.mins.

I get the feeling Ossai is in Lou's doghouse for some reason we aren't privy to.
November 9, 20231 yr comment_1724105 PFF grades being what they are (97.325% made up bullshit numbers) it's wild to see Jonah earn the highest pass pro ranking in the group. Subjective as PFF is that still means he looked considerably better than the rest of the guys. Could mean the other guys were kinda shit as much as Jonah being good but I have to give him credit anyway.

November 9, 20231 yr comment_1724119 I saw him hit back of his head late in 49ers game. I thought for sure he was concussed. I hope they are saving him for exotic blitzes scheme, Lou has hidden.

I’d add Markus Bailey on the ST piece, and when healthy, ADG as well. But it’s been good to see Evans stepping up in kick coverage. I, too am confused re Ossai. At the end of last year, he was playing lights out and this year, he barely plays. I know Murphy has been showing up a little more, but I really thought this was gonna be Ossai’s breakout year. Lou hasn’t been afraid to put guys like DJ Turner and Battle in there, so he trusts them… and obviously not Ossai at this point. I know he was hurt in that last PS game and maybe that’s limiting him a bit. Still have hope he starts flashing again, but as a fan, his lack of play/impact has been a disappointment so far this year.

The only addition to the line this season is Murphy, who isn't getting a ton of backup snaps himself.
