  1. Yeah, it seems they can't cut the mustard. I'm so so sorry about that. No, no I'm not.

  2. I would consider bringing Josh Tupou back on a 1-year deal. As a depth piece he gives you experience, knowledge of the D, and some ballast … and other depth like Carter and Maxwell and Jay Tufele may have some skills but heft vs. the run isn’t one of them. Domenique Davis gives you some but I’d prefer Tupou at this point.

  3. Mortgaging their future would be my guess.

  4. Yes.. I missed out on getting Sewell Getting Fuaga would redeem it. Can't help but think other teams see the same.

  5. Where we’re at is no different than the past 3 years. We still have a legitimate chance to win it all, but the division is the toughest in the league and the AFC is loaded. That’s reality, not an excuse. It may or may not end up how we want but there’s no games till September. The roster isn’t even close to being finished and it’s very reasonable to like what has happened to this point. Especially when guys like Mixon and Jonah are no longer here as many people wanted.

  6. Why bother. Nuance would mean actually acknowledging the occasional thing the team does that you like. I know better than to think that will ever happen with you.

  7. Well, the league has never had any problems with rules that involve the "subjectivity of the call", now, has it? I'm confident that every official will see it the same way and call it the same way every play, every game, and that point spreads will, in no way, enter into the decision-making process.

  8. Again this is MIT Ph D work for football fans. I consider myself a huge Bengals fan but compared to you I'm a small fry. You have to be considered bengals fan of the year for all the work you put in. This is nothing short of phenomenal like all you post here. In my mind I don't believe there is anyone working for the bengals who lays this out as well as you.

  9. Browns owner is very rich. Jimmy and Dee Haslam sold their truck stop chain to Warren Buffet and collected more than 10 billion for it. They own the Columbus Crew of MLS and have spent freely here in Cbus. The Crew have given them a couple of championships and the Haslams definitely like that. Watson makes 46 mil per year on a guaranteed deal. He isn't worth that much but the QB market has passed way beyond 46 so he's not outrageously expensive. Amari Cooper makes 20 mil per year but is going into the final season of his contract so Jeudy may be his replacement. Chubb has a 16 mil cap hit this year coming off a major injury so he's likely to take a paycut. Garrett and Ward are well paid but not malcontents. So the Browns aren't in an especially dire cap situation over the next few years.

  10. Does anybody else understand WTF the Browns are doing with these guarantees on contracts? Like, hey - you're semi-mid - here's 3 years guaranteed at 5mil+ over your market value per year.

  11. Nike and Oregon destroyed uniform class. The NFL has at least tried to hold it back somewhat, but I fear it’s only a matter of time (and money) before they become like the NBA and allow 57 uniform combinations

  13. My daughter, a former Skyline employee for 8 years, was none too happy when she heard they FINALLY switched to Coke. She hates Pepsi. As far as Brown is concerned, I don’t think the Patriots would throw him under the bus to be honest. In Brown’s defense, the whole Mac Jones era has been an unmitigated disaster so Brown may have simply checked out. It is hard to get motivated to block for a shit QB with no running game and zero talent at WR. The Patriots literally have no decent talent and ZERO speed anywhere.

  16. The Browns are screwing the rest of the NFL, that Jerry Jeudy deal is nuts...

  17. Fuaga is a mauling olineman anywhere. Versatility plays a part. He would beat out Volson yes and provide OT depth. Unless MB is adamant about a certain WR I doubt Katy goes that route. Have ye no faith with this receiving corps without Higgins? I do.. Turner should upgrade himself after being thrown into starting lineup last year. The whole organization knows they need. NT . So... Katy will make it happen..😎

  20. My hot take... if you want to try to win a Super Bowl in 2024, Adonai Mitchell is the guy likely to be available at #18 who gives you your best shot. He's slightly shorter (6'2" 1/4) than Tee but way faster (4.34). Kind of like Jahmyr Gibbs last year, who most were talking about as a late-1st or early-2nd, I think Mitchell is a guy who ends up in the Top 20 by Draft day. Imagine defenses having to try to stop Chase, Higgins, and Mitchell. The size and speed of that trio would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTHx4O6Mkns

  21. Pollack seemed to talk about Barton as interior only. Fautanu seems like the main guy who could legitimately be very good at OT or OG. He is the one to target IMO if you want to have 6 OL and figure out your 5 best in camp. He could start over Volson in 24 and then take over for T. Brown in 25. Or you could just get a true OT and give him a redshirt year (barring injury).

  22. Great points. Keep drafting linemen early.

  23. They are doing a mock draft on NFL Network (Have Bengals selecting JC Latham). For the Dolphins at 21 they have them selecting Graham Barton…as a center (has been playing LT at Duke) and said that he can play ANY position on the offensive line. I wonder now that we have signed Trent Brown at RT if Barton’s versatility might make him more attractive to the Bengals. Thoughts?

  24. I don't see it as much negativity as being real about where we are at right now I'm tired of "we reached the SB" as well They've upgraded alot of areas to be sure but until they do what needs to be done his comments seem viable imho.

  25. Absolutely. Stock up for the losses and cuts coming next year.

  26. Obtaining a decent NT would make it them an A+..😎

  27. Pollack kind of alluded to that too, said he is nasty in his blocking but also was a very solid pass blocker. If he is there I think he is the pick.

  28. Probably so but you know the inbreds love Olinemen wherever they insert them. I know JPJ would be a hard competitor to face for our Dline if so.

  29. JPJ is that player. Watch some of his videos and how he moves tackles for gaps I warming up to this kid big-time. Outside of Mims Fuaga and Lathem this would be my first oline pick .

  30. I will just pipe in and say several sites have noted that given his athletic absolute he does not seem to have a full drive for football. The vowel guy from Yale does however.

  32. Any thoughts on the kid from BYU that is related to Penei Sewell...Kingsley Abunchofvowels...or something like that. These Nigerian and Polynesian players' last names have got me like...

  33. To be honest, most of his pressure problems come from the interior rush--and less so from the RT spot. Where he gets knocked down all the time is a combo of having no sliding to one side avenues--which the tackle spots can seal--and no step-up space. The undisputed master of escape--Kermit. Watch his right tackle when he starts to slide to his right...moves out almost immediately sealed by him. Jonah could never get this down pat. Maybe Brown will, but it does require some agility.

  34. The games aren’t going to be played for months. Are you going to do nothing but be negative until then? They’ve done what you wanted. Jonah is gone and a veteran has been signed to replace him. We still have the draft to add more pieces. You should be happy but nope. I doubt anything, even winning a Super Bowl, would change it for you.

  35. As long as there is still a gaping hole at nose tackle, after struggling horribly against the run last year in a run-first division, it is hard for me to give the Bengals an A. But they have improved the team in some other areas, especially at defending the pass.

  36. One should be there. We should be in good shape for the draft . Truly excited about our chances of a SB run now.

  37. Right but the piece is in place for now. We have a starting 5 with more to add In the draft.

  38. Agree. Older but can still play well.

  39. Finally have a RT that can pass block efficiently to give JB that extra time to do his magic

  40. This is a great signing. But Bengals still need to draft at least an IOL and probably a tackle too. Brown and Karras are free agents after the season with Cappa and Volson going into the final year of their deals next year. None of our O-line backups are pushing the starters and it's probably fair to call all of Trey Hill, Jackson Carman, and D'Ante Smith busts.

  41. Fuaga if he's there.

  42. This signing doesn't take RT off the table at 18 at all. I expect Brown to start but the rookie will get time even if to keep Brown fresh
